I have been working on a first person shooter called scar, so i want to get this out of the way: yes i know "oMg 3D!!! I DON IT'Z" is used WAY too much, people thinking there going to make scratch history but then they realize that they were wrong, it happens all the time, i've been on scratch since 2008 working out how to do it while still being playable, and i do believe i've done it
it's still in a small beta form, but i'm pretty sure it will work. i've posted a unlisted video on youtube showing a demo of the first level,/room and due to scratches data limit i'm trying to figure out the best way to save space but that will just take time,
in the video the frame rate is really bad, it's about halved but that is because i'm running a screen recorder and other things at the same time so here it is : http://www.scratch.mit.edu/ext/youtube/?v=PBwAsGIL6MU i cant post a direct link due to scratch's rule's about linking to external sites so just copy and paste it.
it will probably be a few months since i have to hard code the levels and make the enemies, hud , and work out any bugs. but hopefully the final game will be uploadable to scratch. if you want to see a small tech demo look here let me know what you think!
UPDATE: the demo in the video is of a early build the level engine (see below \/) witch i've been revamping right now i've ran into some bugs that i hope to fix soon.
progress----
basic engine: DONE
level engine: nearing completion - note: finishing this engine is the biggest part of this project, once it is done i will mostly have the easy things left!
hud: on hold
demo: in progress
options(rendering distance,ect): on hold
story: on hold
final bug/glitch test: on hold
release: on hold
-------
levels:
1: in progress
2(and so on): on hold
thanks for your time!

The video looks really neat. Too bad it's too big. I thought it would be another one of those things were a little crossair goes wherever your mouse goes and you click to shoot. I'm sick of people calling those "real" fps's.

i'm not sure it's too big, i'll have to see as i work on it, i'm trying to think of ways to minimize sprite's because right now i have about 90 making up the walls! lol
so i thought i could just use one sprite for all the walls but it was REALLY slow, so i'm trying to think up a compromise where i use each sprite more then once but not everywhere at the same time
ps Thanks for at least saying something
nobody has really cared about this, even the test project getting only ONE comment
so i'm trying to spread the word so any encouragement really helps, thanks

i know i haven't been doing too much lately but don't worry i fully plan too finish this one way or another. right now i've been having trouble with the "north, south, east, west" detection that makes different pieces of the map switch places to the next position.
