I'm running...
for mod!
I feel that, if I become a mod, I'll do everything I can to make this a good, clean site. The only problem is, though, I have school from 9:00am to 4:00pm so I may not always moderate. Do you think I'd make a good Community Moderator?

You don't need a speech until you're officially chosen to be a candidate by the Scratch Team - and the voting begins. All I wrote was "I'd love to nominate myself for this!" at first, and waited to write my speech later.
Really, this election is way out of perspective. For all we know, the election may never happen.

i don't know you well enough to judge, so ill do some analysing...
-you're quite new
-you don't post very much, so people won't really know you
-you're good at/enjoy maths
-you have to wait for a bus after school/get picked up by your running-late parents
-you like pokemon
-you have pokemon heart gold/soul silver
-you're a big fan of yoshi/the mario series
clearly those facts i found from your post don't help much.

USED TO! That was when I LOVED Yoshi, but now I think Sonic and Pokemon are better.
