I found scratch because I taught myself html when I was in 8th grade from a book.
My older sister runs a relationship and love advice website and I wanted to help her out by programming some cool features, but C++ and the other languages confused me. So far I have done one trial program, but it didn't turn out too well. It was more because my sister didnt give me an exact picture of what she was looking for. I am currently making a "what type of person you will marry" quiz that will be very fun and interactive.

I think my younger brother found Scratch first. Making games is something I've always thought would be fun, but I didn't want to learn a really complex programming language. In the beginning, even Scratch seemed complex, but after sticking with it for a while I've been able to make some amazing games. And the fact that you can share projects so easily makes it even better. Scratch is awesome!

My Scratch Story? Well, this is it:
I went to summer school and I got my summer school newsletter which said: "Next week, we'll be exploring the world of Scratch!" and I was just like "Scratch? What the heck is scratch?". Well, our teacher explained to us about scratch before that, but i thought the same thing.
The next week.....
I was late for class scince I went to the dentist. This class was only first period (1/3 of the summer school day) and I was so late, I was there for only 7 mins. But when I walked into the room, there it was! Scratch on the screen (for the projecters). I was like "Wow.... That's Scratch?" "Yup!" said my teacher. I told her why I was late. But scince I was late, I couln't get a laptop, so I got someone to show me what they learned.
The next day....
At first, I thought scratch was going to be hard. But when I used it and made a sample project I was just like "This is soooo easy". But as we learned more, It got kinda hard. I looked up Scratch on Google and then.. I saw it... The Scratch Official website! I was just looking around. Nothing much happened then.
Week 4-5....
It was time for our final project... A soccer game!! (http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/pablito_897/217942)
The first week we started, we edited/got/made our sprites. Then we added the backround. Then we made the controlls. It was a long 1 1/2 week.
The Semi-Final/Final Day:
In the semi-final final day when I got home, I made this account for my project so other people can see it (And pretty soon I'm getting getting scratch). The next day, bad lick struck me... One of my features wasn't working anymore!!!! It was suppoused to be the goaley (sp?) say "Try again....." with a voice and a bubble. But now for some reason, it didn't work! One of the teachers who was a Scratch expert helped me we figured out my problem. I burned my game in a CD, put it online, and left for 2nd period.
The rip-off:
When I got home after 3-4 hours scince I put my game online, there were 2 rip-offs:
1. It only had 1 view
2. I forgot to save and so it is like I never changed the problem.
I was so mad. But I got over it.
And that, is my Scratch Story!

My story has probably been heard a million times. I was trying to do a science project by making an animated image, but it was taking to long. So my teacher showed me scratch. I experimented a little bit, and have been using it ever since.

Here's my Scratch Story:
Okay, I found out about Scratch when I was looking for an easy game programmer. Well, actually, I was originally looking for a Mario level editor. Here's how it happened: Mario Forever was too gitchy and The Lunar Magic level editor was too complicated. I was looking ALL over for game programmers, but all of them either needed to be bought, or were too complicated.
Then, one day, I typed into Google: "Mario Maker" and sure enough, there was a Scratch project called "Mario Maker". At first, I didn't know what Scratch was, so I just skipped right over it. But when I went back to it, I saw that it was programmed by a normal person like me! When I figured out that I could make games like that, I decided to give Scratch a try... and at my first sight, I knew I had found the game programmer I had been looking for!
At first, it wasn't all that easy... I needed to learn about the blocks, scripts, and sprites... but I got the hang of it! Now, I make great projects, create little-kid games for my baby cousin, have plenty of friends on Scratch, and run my own Scratch Website! I love Scratch, and I think that everyone who wants to make games should download it! And I am very proud to say...
SCRATCH ON!![]()
