Saving you project only to find out later that it's gone

This is a problem I encountered with scratch 1.4. I recently saved a project so I could work on it later on. And when I did, It wasn't even there!  sad

Am I the only one who has this mess up?

Hmm... What do you mean? You mean you can't find the file, or the sprites and/or scripts in your file are gone?

I can't find it in the Scratch projects file, or in the example projects.

Make you you remember where you saved it. If you download a project, then later work of a project of yours in the same Scratch window, when you save, the default save location will be the temp folder on your computer. (Or wherever your downloaded projects get saved to)

Maybe you closed scratch before it could save the project.

Re: Saving you project only to find out later that it's gone

You may have closed Scratch before the project saved, the file can get corrupted that way and not load properly the next time you open it. Or if it's the first time you're saving the project, not save at all sometimes.  hmm  You'll know when Scratch is done saving, because the outline of a box moves across the screen.

It could also be that it saved somewhere else though. If you remember what you called your project, try searching for the name in your computers search bar to see if it shows up there.  smile

Often, downloaded projects go to the "Downloads" folder, and saving it as a remix would locate it in the same folder. The folder that automatically opens with the Scratch file browser is the "Projects" folder, so it could just be that you're looking in the wrong folder.
