Great Ideas for Scratch

Here's a list of Suggestions

1. Scratch Joystick
2. Scratch Gloves
3. Scratch Stick
4. Scratch shooter

1. This is a regular joystick
2. These are like boxing gloves that link with the computer the blocks example are
right glove x position right glove y position left glove x position left glove y position distance from sensor to gloves
3.This is like a magic wand  it will sense the angle it is turned at and how far
4. This is just a regular gun used for shooting games Don't worry I mean gore-less games

Re: Great Ideas for Scratch

These would all be things like the Wii controller?  Something you hook up to your computer and use to input actions?  Those would be pretty cool!

Re: Great Ideas for Scratch

That would be really fun to use, but probably expensive and hard to make, especially with all the sensing

If you had the money or parents would let you… Though I guess you can use the same sensing as the Wii-mote and use blocks that coordinate with the sensors

Hehe, I get Nintendo Power and apparently there is actually a way to hook up your wiimote to the computer via usb, u have to download some stuff and not be afraid of breaking the wiimote. I bet you could hook it into scratch easily. Gun? Buy the Zapper and connect, assuming you are using the wiimote approach.

I concur. That is one of the changes the Scratch Team needs to add in the most!

I'm pretty sure they are adding those judging from the amount of complaints for them.

I am almost 100% sure they will. People have been asking for them left and right.

Re: Great Ideas for Scratch

good idea, since I have the Wii remote I'm going to try cyclone123's approach first. I'll have to bug my dad about that though... oh well!  smile
but I need to be careful though about breaking the Wii remote and those downloads. Maybe some other time.

I have been working on the problem of using a WiiMote to control Scratch programs, using the the new remote sensor stuff.

If you have a pc a wiimote and a bluetooth dongle this is now possible, and with no obvious risk of breaking anything, although not easy just yet (The code I have written does not yet have a simple install process but I'm sure that will change soon).

If you check out my post on Scratch Forums  you can find the code.

There are 10 types of people in this world: Those who understand trinary, those who don't, and those who think this is the same old signature.
