OpenType (.otf) is a type of font. Usually when you buy a font it comes in otf which both Mac and Windows use. However, when I got one (eagle bold), Scratch didn't read it. Can scratch start supporting otf?

I'll assume you have a Mac, due to your username. Did you try double clicking on the font file (I don't have a Mac, so I'm guessing)?

I mainly use windows. Don't ask. My username is just a username.
I installed it. The font in my signature is the font. But Scratch can't find Eagle Bold.

Here's what you do:
1. Assuming the folder with the font is zipped, unzip it.
2. Open the unzipped one, and locate the font file.
3. In the navagation thingamajig, locate Computer, C/OS (or whatever yours is called), locate Windows, and in Windows, you'll see a folder called Fonts. Drag your font file to that folder.
4. The End.

I know how to install fonts. That's how I made my signature.
Scratch just won't read OTF. It doesn't show up. And I did install it.
Windows also lets you right-click the font and click install, and windows 7 lets you open it and click install.

Alright. Then you do have an issue. Ask for a refund, and go to 1001Fonts.com, find Eagle Bold (I did, it's there), buy it, and get it as TrueType? Scratch reads that...

I don't want to/can't get a refund. I'm only asking for Scratch to support OTF.
Right now I'm looking for OTF>TTF programs.

Since Scratch 2.0 will be written in Flash, we'll all have to learn more about how fonts interact with Flash. If you'd like to research this for us, please feel free! There are lots of questions I have -- like does Flash recognize fonts installed on the system, and if so how? (for starters).
It's even possible that OTF fonts are already supported by Flash....
