Scratch board not working. Help!

Hi folks. I have an old scratch board that uses a USB-serial cable. After the scratch conference at MIT I have been trying to get it to work with my intel macbook pro running Snow Leopard. I also tried it with my powerbook running leopard and also with tiger.

The scratchboard watcher doesn't come on unless I right click and select serial port. Then it says 'on' at the top, but I still don't get any sensor board readings to show it is working.

Is there something I'm not doing or do I just have a faulty board? I downloaded the prolific driver as indicated in the 'getting started with scratch board' file.

I really want to be able to use all the exciting stuff I learned at the conference -- so any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks

Pratibha
