Forum

One thing I think would be really nice is in the forum you could see if each reply or whatever you call it was new or not. Because I read the forum a lot and I like to know where the new postings start.

Re: Forum

If you go to the forum index screen, there is a link to "show all posts since last visit".

Re: Forum

unless you read the forum several times a day, the number of new posts may be too many to read in one sitting.  If you don't get through them all, there is no convenient way to get the unread posts, since they are no longer "since last visit".  The "show recent posts" will only show a page of posts, so that won't help if you go on vacation for a couple of days.

It would be more difficult, but useful for forum readers, to have a record of exactly which posts have been read, so that unread posts could be accessed, even if they aren't "new".
The big question is whether this information is stored on the web server (either with each user storing which posts have been read, or each post storing which users have read it), or in the user's browser (which would cause problems with shared machines or   people who use multiple machines).

Re: Forum

Usually when I get on I read most of the new ones and the ones I don't read I don't want to.
