Hey, have you seen the recent project-creating stats?
It's been going down a bit (a lot)...
See them here.
It was maybe 72,000 projects a few months ago, but now it's only 50,000.

Cool. I mean, 'oh no!'
It's not really something to get upset over though, it might be 25,000 less I quit announcements or the scratch cat bouncing around projects

Yeah, probably school. And it will likely stay like this a while, but be more flatlined than just a drop.

The 1,300,000 is coming up in 4000 projects. I wonder how fats we will get to it, and if the drop will stay in effect.

Unfortunately, user memberships are down too. At least comments are at a record high

Ooh! I didn't notice

Yeah, it's probably the School thing. That is weird though. I'm surprised the drop is so huge.

Maybe (but probably not) it's because of the announcement of 2.0. Some people could be waiting for 2.0 to come out and have stopped making projects. I doubt it though. The drop can't be totally blamed on school though, since it seems to have started in May or June, right? Plus, there may be increases in projects from some people during school, since some schools use Scratch.

Hmm, that's interesting. I've got 3 projects that are still being worked on, and plenty more ideas that haven't been started yet, so I could start putting out more.

In addition, I'm a bit skeptical about the idea that it's because of school, because the graph starts going down from what I can see about the middle of July. So I'm not really sure...

Well, I'm fairly certain it isn't school, but maybe it's the general summer thing? People may have left for vacations during this time and most likely wouldn't have access to a Scratch-capable computer. the summer is a very vague period of time; for some people it's only a few weeks, for most it's about two months, but they all start and end at different times. I'm too lazy to look at the graph myself; has this happened in the summer before?

From what I can see, it's happened a little bit, but never to this extent.

I did notice that... it could possible be because of school starting up...

I'm actually making less cause of the announcement of 2.0. I'm saving up all my good ideas where they could be put to more effective use with all the new features 2.0 will (probably) have.

From what I've heard, the Scratch Team says that for the most part, Scratch 2.0 will be exactly the same so they can get it out as soon as possible; and they'll probably add very few new features. They'll save all of the feature ideas for 2.1 or something similar .
