So, you're saying you'd vote for me because I'd be a good mod?
I doubt that.

Er, even if he was being honest, I'm still not running or anything.

My account is not old enough(you have to be 6 months or older), so I can't run for moderator. However, I'll submit my speech so you can critique it and I can improve on it:
Hi, I'm helltank and I first discovered Scratch in 2007 or so. At that time, I went by the name haloplayer, but soon quit. Suddenly, this year I remembered Scratch, which was lucky as I rejoined and this time, did not quit.
In 2007, long ago, in the days before coolstuff, Dazachi and Chrischb, I remember being fascinated and curious about a certain user who had the power to delete inappropriate projects, and from what I could make out, was also the person who receives flags on projects. That person, it turned out, was Paddle2See, and I recall wishing to be like him/her one day. So in 2010, I remembered that dream and instantly started finding out more about moderators.
Now that I am a moderator, I would like to assure you that I will:
Follow the Terms of Use strictly
Give warnings to people who break the Terms of Use, followed by a ban if the offense is major
Help others, like New Scratchers, learn more about Scratch. In fact, I've already uploaded some guides, like A guide to flame wars and Helltank's Noob Guide.
Be friendly and laid-back, so that Scratchers won't fear me as the boring and stickler for rules moderator. After all, it's better to lead by respect than fear.
Which brings me to the next point:I'll lead the other Scratchers on the road to learning.
So remember:When you place a vote for me, you're not voting for helltank:You're voting for yourself, because if I'm elected, I'll definitely do my best to help you.

Starting tomorrow, when I'm at school, bored, I'm going to rip apart everyone's speeches and examine them. Possibly, I'll write some counter speeches
And I mean today, I forgot it was Monday for a second :\

That's why I'm submitting this speech. Anyway, for your questions:
1)I'm not using haloplayer because the guy acted like a noob, made noob projects and was kinda hated.
2)It's not meant to insult newbies. It's just a catchy title
PS:Just out of curiosity, would you vote for me?

Alright, assuming you weren't running...
(if I wasn't trying to gain a good reputation so I'll get more votes next January, I would so flame Blade-Edge. I'll roast him and burn him alive.)

good spech???
i have never not wanted to be a mod. i kinda "looked up to them " if you know what i mean. they are kind, (usually) and the make great things! (usually) and to be honest, i have all those traits!(usually) i like helping people. if i can answer some random question, I ANSWER IT. i don't ever spam. (unless there is some gallery that wants projects in them which technicaly isn't spam!!)its good to be nice and all, but its better to be helpful! i usually check out the forums, so i guess thats good. if any thing my, projects are okay, and i make more by the...3...orrrrr...4..days! my life as a scratch is pretty exciting. it goes from having some guy say "DIS IZ D WURT PROGECT EVR." to: oh wow! thats amazing! if i'm a moderator, i'd probably stick around the project parts of scratch. vote chipguy! make scratch 5% better! (i mean, its like 95% perfect already!!)
needs improvement, i agree.

Alright, this is where we begin
My book is entitled "Reasons why I will not vote for helltank"
Chapter 1
I'm typing this up in a notepad, so give me a few minutes

Chapter 1: The speech
Let's examine this speech, shall we?
First you mention how often your projects were flagged. I guess that's normal, although I've never heard of it. Benefit of the doubt.
Next you state how you already are a mod? Sorry, did I miss something?
Anyway, ignoring that, you have some noob guides? Noob is an offensive term for newbies, so why would you use that? Oh, right, catchy title. However, innacurate title
Noobs are not newbies. I see you're familiar with the banning process also, I'm not surprised
What does being a moderator have to do with fear? It's respect, and it demands it, no one fears moderators
Anyway, you've mentioned that you would help us, you don't mention how. What would you do?
But still, I liked that part better than the generic repetitive speeches
Let's move on
Chapter 2: Past behaviour inside and outside of Scratch
You constantly mention that you try to strangle your sister. I do not want you as a moderator
A few weeks ago, I witnessed a topic in the dustbin by a certain individual with an underscore behind his name, and it had profanity in it, and the topic title was directed at you, helltank
I also saw 'Last replied to by helltank" which meant you saw the topic
Recently, on the public forums, you yourself admitted to being that person. I'm not even sure why you're still around, since you openly swore on the forum, and for what? What was the reason for that anyway?
Seriously, help me out here. I can't see any reason at all behind it.
You can't take it back
Now, let's move on again
Chapter 3: Behaviour towards voters
Yo, that means me. I wouldn't particularly like being 'roasted' not that you can do that to me
It's still not good political behaviour to make threats towards voters
If you were trying to get good rep, you wouldn't make remarks like that anyway
It's like a presidential candidate says on the radio "If I wasn't running for president, I would be torching buildings and robbing banks"
That's like saying you don't want any votes at all
Chapter 4: Voting for you
I won't, for above reasons
If anyone else wants a book, I can write one for you

Ah, yes, how can I forget your constant spamming of "The game"?

Are you allowed to vote for more than one person?
If it's voting in the same way as the last election, the votes will be done by putting the candidates in order of preference - eg, if I was asked to vote for my favourite fruit using the website that was used, and the choices were apple, banana and orange, it would look something like this:
Rank
Name of fruit 1 2 3
Apple X
Banana X
Orange X
The votes are kind of like that... You tick the box "1" for your favourite candidate, "2" for your second favourite, and so on. So it's not just a clear-cut "tick one box" vote - you just have to put the candidates in order (that means that if you like a few candidates most, and a few less, you can show that on your vote)
