Hi, onaken. Looks like you're using Scratch on the XO. That's great! Unfortunately I cannot recreate this error because I don't have an XO, but the red outline does indicate a runtime error. Could you perhaps tell us a little more about the problem: Are you using just a single say block with "hello" in it? How do you start the script, by double clicking on it? Or is the say-block part of a larger stack of blocks (a script), if so, could you perhaps post a picture of that script or describe what it does? I'm confident we'll be able to help you, then!

Well, that is strange. Could you put the project on the Web (with Share) so we can take a look at the error on our computers?

Hi, Onaken.
I'm not sure what the problem is with your "hello" script; it works for me.
You may want to make sure that you have the latest version of XO Scratch. (To find the version, click on "Extras" and select "about...". The current version should say "Scratch 1.3 (XO v4 beta of 1-Jun-08)". But I believe the "say" block has worked in every version of Scratch. It may be that you have some other error in your script.
For help with XO issues (such as how to use a USB Flash drive) see the XO support pages:

BTW, I don't think updating from XO build 656 to build 703 will make any difference. If you have not already updated your XO, I would keep it at 656 for now. 703 introduces some inter-application security features that can break some things that used to work.
