So... I should post my speech now?
At this point, isn't it mainly the Scratch Team who we're trying to convince?
And where do we nominate ourselves? And when?
That's what I don't know either.

Even if you weren't joking, why would you possibly react that way?

Meh... all this action makes me want to run.
I'll run next time... so I have plenty of time practicing.
..........................................
What happens if someone gets tired and doesn't read through everything as much?

Do you get kicked out if you get a bit lazy and don't read much for a while?
Currently, there have been some cases where moderators leave for periods of time due to vacation or issues with personal life (like taking out time to study for a big final exam), and we let the other moderators know about it ahead of time.
With all due respect: don't tell me you're plan is to sit around doing nothing if you expect to become a mod!

Definitely not!
(was that mad emoticon part of the sentence or are you mad?
)
EDIT: Eh... my previous post gives the wrong sign. ^^ I'll edit it...
EDIT: Done.

Of course not
If that was so, I'd have been kicked out ages ago (early- to mid- June, I went camping, and to a family wedding, and some other stuff... so I wasn't very active) - now I mostly read things that:
-interest me in some way (suggestions and announcements mostly
)
-have reports on them
-have no/few replies (aw... lonely little topics <:3)
-sound like commercial spam (eg - "Buy your new toaster today! Excellent for toasting bread, waffles, and cricket bats!")
-sound flamebait-ish/against the misc guidelines
-have other topics with similar names...
-are stickies/iTopics
As for not being able to come on, I think cheddargirl summed that up ^^
EDIT: @the new edit: Nothing really - you don't have to fit your life around moderation - it's way more flexible than that
If you have a day or more when you don't feel like/don't have time for reading/posting, it's OK... I actually spent most of my free time yesterday sleeping, not moderating ^^" One of the beauties of having such a large moderating team is that it's pretty much guaranteed that someone will pick up the reports if you can't get on/don't know how to deal with a specific report

Ah, wrong interpretation.
No, you don't get kicked out of being a mod if one day you're feeling really tired; no one is forced to mod if they're feeling tired. (Actually, tiredness is a sign that you need a break from moderating!
)
As for the mad emoticon reaction: My biggest worry with this election (or any election in general) is of those who enter the race for the sake of the title rather than the willingness to take on the responsibility that comes with that title. Not too long ago I held a student government position for a few years, the experience of which makes me feel rather very peeved at the idea of someone who takes on a high position but fails to act on his/her responsibilities out of laziness (hence the mad emoticon).

My speech SHOULD be done today, but I'm not sure if I'll finish it. If not today, definitely tomorrow.
