UPDATE: Vote for this idea HERE!
This seems like a feature that needs to be implimented. Sometimes I will see a project that based on either the project title or the preview picture will tell me it needs to be flagged... but I don't want to have to see the project!
Example: A project in "New Projects" by [name removed by moderator] with a name VERY inappropriate and a really bad picture. (I would flag it but I don't want to see it... 0_o)
[Moderator Edit: Please do not use the forums to name other users who are posting inappropriate projects. Scratch On!]
oops sorry
Here's a mockup by soupoftomato:
I think that this should be something that unlocks after a user has been on Scratch for a certain amount of time (like signatures).

I would but i'm out of votes Might betray an idea if enough people support.

A simple way to do it would be too add a play button like in most Flash movies/games instead of the green flag in the corner.

Disabling the autoplay feature and showing an image until play button pressed would work as well.

Not an image from the project with the naked guy in it I hope. A play arrow with the Scratch cat's face on it and a white background.

I totally agree… I once saw a project which had the icon of a nude man and was forced to try viewing the project to flag it. Fortunately, the project had already been flagged.

How would you know? Do you have special powers?
It's a really nice idea and saves ourselves from the torture, but where would you flag the projects?

I think coolstuff may mean that the project was flagged enough times so the auto-censoring kicked in.

For me, I just disable the Java process in my Task manager window (my computer runs on Windows XP) so I wouldn't have to view the project. That immediately kills the project from loading in the browser; it's very handy way to flag a project (assuming I already know what's in the project via the thumbnail preview) without viewing the whole project altogether.

I'll keep that in mind... but I've never had the need to do that yet.

Usually I find that I can click on the red stop sign before the project has fully loaded. But that may be just because my internet connection isn't super fast. This does seem like it could be a useful feature

O_o Everyone here seems to have had to visit inappropriate projects... I feel lucky. ^^

I agree, it would look more profesinal if there was a play button or even better, nothing!

I cant say I agree with this... this is reminding me of a ray bradbury short story "usher ii" where the government wants to burn certain books, and one government agent is voluntarily led into a trap by a rebel in the exact same way as in one of the books the agent is trying to burn. The rebel than kills the agent, because if he had actually read the book he was trying to burn, he would have known it was a trap and tried to escape. I think if you want to flag a project, you should see the entire project and not judge the book by its cover.

um... good point but when it has a violent name or really innapropriate preview image it's pretty safe to flag it...

Excellent point. Now here's a scenario for you:
There's a project with a preview of something very innappropriate and naked. Now we should not judge this project by the cover so we must go to it. Either A) the image 'accidentally' got placed into the best game ever, or B) It's full of innappropriate things being flashed everywhere.

Sorry it's not "pretty" with the edited screenshots.
Anyway, a scroll-over of the Red Flag would say something like, "Flag this due to an inappropriate thumbnail or title"

They should both be flagged anyway...

wow great mock up! maybe you should only have this feature after you have been on Scratch for a while.

Nah - I have no special powers over the main website except to add projects to the Design Studio.
It was auto-censored... A project with more than x flags gets auto-censored.

Sorry to be off topic, but is that because the user ScratchDesignStudio sets the galleries to "only me and my friends"? You're on the user's friend list...

Well, yes, I believe it is.

Maybe. However, this would still probably lead to a lot of projects being unfairly flagged.
