I am absolutely horrible at opening my locker. It took me twenty minutes to figure out how to open it, and then after ten minutes of practice I can do it, but I still suck.
So, icecream, though you aren't worried about this kind of thing, I still suggest practicing how to use combination locks (If your locker uses them, that is)
Ah, turns out I am alot better at opening my locker than I thought. I opened it on my first try nearly every time.

Don't worry about it. I freaked out last year, when i started middle school. You get used to it really easily, switching classes and all.
TIPS: Stay cool and dont stand out. I'm a fat nerd, but i never got bullied! "When in rome, do what the romans do"
Do your work, and pay attention. If the teacher likes you, then your home free.
Read on your own time! Reading is required through the year, but if you spend your time reading in class, you'll get yelled at. I knew a kid who practicly spent his LIFE reading, so i he got no work done, got no homework done, and got a bad english grade.
Have fun, but keep it within your friends. If you chat in class, you wont get a "Stop it", you get a detention. Luckily, i have a clean record.
Get involved! If you do sports in clubs, you make new friends, and get exercise!
I hope this helps!

Most of the kids were only having problems because they claimed they were dialing it right, and they were, but they were at the wrong locker. Seriously. I saw that happen to about five kids.
ROFL! People, READ THE FREAKING NUMBER ON THE LOCKER! Like if you have 67 like I do, DON'T try to open 226!

This is what happened one of the times..
Teacher: Well.. It looks like you're dialing right..
Kid: I am!
Teacher: Let me go get the custodian.. (Leaves to get custodian)
Me: Are you sure you're at the right locker?
Kid: OHHH! I'm at 0-89, not 0-87!
(Teacher comes back with custodian)
Kid: Oh, it's fine, I was just at the wrong locker!
Teacher:
Custodian: -_-

Still, I would be very embarrassed if that kid was me. The only problem I have had is that on my 2nd week, I was trying to open it TV-style (in 2 seconds flat), and I couldn't get in.

It takes me around 20 seconds.
And it probably would have been pretty embarassing for the kids that went to the wrong locker. Some kids were reallly nervous about middle school, so it was understandable.

Just be yourself, don't be shy... In 6th grade, I was myself a lot and I got a lot of friends, but later on in the 7th-8th grade I started getting more quiet and shy... Don't do that, school will be really boring if you do that.
Also, if you get bad grades at first, don't give up, just do your best. I couldn't even get all B's in the the first 2 quarters of 6th grade, but by the end of the year, I had straight A's. Seriously, don't feel down at first, just keep trying and doing your best, study for tests and stuff.
Another thing, trust me, your grades matter, it doesn't matter yet, but once you get to high school, you better start getting A's or you might not end up in a good college or get a good job after...(I'm not that far yet, but I know...)

Everyone: My locker combination is 32-6-18!
No one I know is on Scratch and besides, that's just my locker combo from last year
so it's fine

I don't have any problems with eighth graders. My sister's in eighth grade, and I have quite a few friends in that grade, too, so I'm fine. Buut, seventh graders on the other hand, believe that they are far more superior than sixth graders, and they act quite obnoxious about it. At my school, at least.

Well then. I'm hopeless on the "don't stand out" part. First, I'm a 10-year-old taking advanced seventh grade English and math. Second, I have a reputation as a nerd and I don't know why. Last, my best friend is a girl, so everyone thinks we're in love! -_-
