Okay, I'm gonna run. Here's my speech:
Hi, I'm majormax. I'm running for moderator. I've been on scratch for over 2 years (one month after coolstuff joined), but have just recently been active on the forums. Although, I haven't been on for long, I've really gotten to care about what happens on the forums. I think the reason because I didn't go on when I first joined much is because of trolls and the like. So now, two years later, I want to help stop them, making the forum seem a lot more enjoyable for new users.

Hey Paddle! You featured my project! I saw you at scratch day you might not remember me. I am really looking forward to the elections, I made my speech in July and have been waiting. Could I post it now?

I'm not Paddle - but you can definitely post it now

Hi!
Paddle, thanks for posting this. I have to say, you are a rockin' scratch team(er?).
I'm running.
I have a suggestion, What if you made a sub forum separately for the speeches?

1.) Lol, trying to get on the ScratchR's good side, eh?
2.) Last time they did that it was in announcements, so if this becomes official, it'll probably be in Announcements. In fact, they'll probably even move this thread to announcements, then use this for the "Official Community Moderator Election Discussion".

-Chrischb/JonathonBWell, I'm not running.
Why force yourself to a job of painfully moderating the forums? Isn't it much better to do it freely, where you're not forced to moderate?
Plus, I just wouldn't be good enough. ^_^
I want to see... um... who do I want to run? xD I'd say coolstuff and Wolfie, but they're already moderators...![]()
Nonsense! You are some of the most dedicated people on this site
![]()
It's not really the dedication... I have a bit of a temper sometimes, I can't read all new posts without getting bored and leaving (yes, I've tried), and I'm just not dedicated enough to do a good job.
Heh, maybe I can try and improve... xD

There may not even be an election this term if the current mods and Scratch Team think we're doing great. Theoretically there may never be another election - but that's unlikely because we'll get tired of this after a while

Yes yes yes yes yes!!! It would be a crime to demod you and Wolfie - you two are excellent moderators, and best of all, you two love to help people out! Some moderators only help people when they have to post saying that they moved the topic anyway - you two will help, even if the topics are just fine!
I'm too outspoken - part of the reason why I'd be a bad mod. xD

Who believes I would be a good moderator? Please be honest, I'll keep a level head if you say no.

I think you'd be a good mod! maybe not the best one ever, but you'd do a good job in my eyes!

If not, ah well, not important anyways xD

I'm thinking of running. Would anyone support me if I did?
Offline
I would.

I'm considering running, possibly-where do I put my speech and who do I tell? I barely have a chance, I'm only 10. But why not?

My speech.
Hi, I am fire219. I have been on Scratch for about 3 years, longer than most. I used to be an arrogant 9-year-old that thought he was the best, but I have changed. I now try to help people, but not correct everyone rudely. I promise to not close stuff out of nowhere, that wasn't causing harm, like with the Steve topics. I will also do my best to stop trolls and flame wars. You may think I am not in the forums enough to be a moderator, but the reason for my low post count is that my dad didn't let me get on the forums until about this February. I now am on the forums most of the weekday evenings, and quite a bit on weekends. I want to make the forums a better place, that little kids and teens can enjoy for the rest of their time Scratching.
-fire219
I hope everyone will vote for a good candidate, like me, fg, or Aidan (if he decides to run).
BTW, with the bit about Steve, I am not pointing any fingers or trying to get on anyone's bad side.

Our youngest moderator is Dazachi... Who I believe is only 9, 10 at most.

I don't read half the posts on this forum
Especially in Miscellaneous. Yet you have a far higher opinion of me than I dare say I deserve.
Plus, moderation is a piece of cake when you get the hand of it. You don't have to scout the forums looking for bad behaviour; just respond to the reports appropriately and you're well on your way to being a wonderful moderator. Couple that with the kindness and enthusiasm that you're known for, and you'd be an awesome mod!
