Things that are frowned upon OTHER than what's in the TOU.

Now you may be thinking: "Wut? DERS MOAR?" Yes, there is. I am saying these incase you are accustomed to the rules of another forum and are not embarrassed. These are things that are frowned upon now just because they got out of hand before, are considered rude, or other things. Of course there is the stuff you DO see in the TOU, remember those? Hopefully you do. Anyway, this is an add-on to the TOU, mostly applies to the forums.

Things that are frowned upon socially:
-1337speak
-Cool Story, Bro
-Pointless threads in Misc.
If there is something I am not aware of, feel free to say so.

Things that are frowned upon and may be deleted or closed:
-Pointless threads elsewhere in the forum
-Cool Story, Bro
-Claiming to be Starlow
-Asking if you are something ridiculous and starting a topic about it
-TBG's in the Misc. forum. (Where TO put them: http://scratch.mit.edu/tbgforums/index.php)
Again, If there is something I am not aware of, feel free to say so.

Maybe self-loveits?  hmm  Many people seem to dislike those...

Double posting, sometimes. Too much bumping, and bumping up old threads that have already served their purpose. There's more that I can't think of at the moment, though.

People who leave topics saying 'Im leaving' or 'Im back'
It really annoys me, unless they are a Mod, they dont have to go out with a BANG  sad

These are just things you frown upon. Don't try to force your views on society. Claiming to be Starlow? That was just a short fad, you're keeping it alive by continuously mentioning it. Alot of these things also do fall under the TOU contrary to what you've said. It's using your common sense.

Some things don't belong here, but you've forgotten to add something really annoying and looked down upon because you're one of the people who does it. Talking with spelling mistakes on purpose (example: "Wut? DERS MOAR?") There's nothing I hate more than this.

Re: Things that are frowned upon OTHER than what's in the TOU.

There are additional forum rules here. While associated to Miscellaneous, the guidelines can also be applied elsewhere on the forums.  smile

If you don't mind me commenting on some of the stuff:
-> Regarding "Cool, Story Bro": Memes [in general] are usually frowned upon, largely because a majority of them do not contribute to the discussion and often come across as indifference to the issue at hand, which could be seen as being disrespectful, and thus, breaking the TOU.

-> Regarding "Starlow": This kind of falls into the category of "posting fad", which can turn into unwanted spam that fills up the forum very quickly. Of course, there are some cases where the fad can be kept in one thread (keeping the discussions all in one place).

Well, the thread isn't as quite old [and dead] as you perceive it to be. Note that the date on the posts aren't apart by a few days (at most, a week).  smile

I'm not trying to bother you. It's not my fault or problem that all of your posts are provoking. You need to fix your posting style, and take into consideration everyone on the forum. You're not the only person here, everyone has different views and opinions.

Interesting guide... But I must say, a number of new users probably wouldn't understand half of what these mean. Maybe some elaboration will be necessary?
