Hey there, Scratchers and Scratch Team!
As you know, right now is just about the campaigning season for the Scratch Community Moderator election as it is coming up around the corner now. So I Lucario621, would like to run for the Scratch Community Moderator election. :) Here's my little preamble xP
I have been a a constantly positive contributor in the Scratch Community, for 3 whole years, and counting ;). To start off, I have participated in all of the Scratch Day events at MIT, and I am an administrator/bureaucrat Scratch Wiki (about 1,000 edits so far)! In addition, I've been a valuable helper on the Scratch Forums (the one you're looking at right now - over 5,000 non-spam posts!). But most importantly, I have made many different projects, and have posted 3,000+ of constructive comments on others' projects, giving good feedback. As far as group work experience, I do participate in Prism, a collaboration of 10 scratchers to make high-quality projects.
So why do I want to run for moderator? I feel that despite all of the work of the current moderators, there's still work to be done, and there are many periods of time when I see that no moderators are online to help give feedback and prevent spam on the forums - so I would be a helpful moderator to fill in the gap. In addition, I would serve as a great role model in the community, as I show that even though I have had my mistakes in the past (no bans though), I have gotten better and have regained much of my reputation, and am a very positive Scratcher, giving good advice to Scratchers of all ages and knowledge.
I have practiced my moderating duties very much so far, as I have good experience of helping others, and I do often flag comments/projects and report different bugs and such to the Scratch Team :).
Also, I am very active on the community usually on 1-2 hours each day.
As for characteristics of me,
- I am very mature, so I can handle different situations very calmly.
- I am very empathetic, so I can understand other's feelings, and try to help them the best I can.
- I can listen well to other's opinions so I can represent the Scratch community's ideas the best I can :).
- I am very creative, so I can help with different suggestions and elaborate on ideas.
In addition, I have lots of Scratch and other programming experience, whether it's animation, art, scrolling, lists, just about anything, so if a Scratcher has a problem, I can always help :)
The Scratch Community has been a great place where I have learned a lot about programming, creative learning and the internet. I'd love to further help the Scratch Community by becoming a moderator, and giving something back. So do please give me consideration as a person you should be voting for; you won't regret it ;).
Thanks, and Scratch On! :)

Thanks!
Remember, a vote for Lucario621 is a vote for a friendlier Scratch Community!

I'm voting for you first. :3
Who else is trying out?
(I don't know why I'm putting this in sports terms)

You'd make a great mod! Well composed speech, by the way.

I'm not sure - we'll just have to wait and see!

I have a feeling it will be a very active election this year. It's great seeing how many people are interested in giving back to the community.

I am! Good luck, by the way!
You'll probably do better than me.

Umm...
If they are doing it the same way as last time, the candidates have not been chosen yet.
There is no voting until you know exactly who can be voted for...

Ah well. I'll probably add it on the final speech on the announcements forum
However, I don't really think "humble" is related to the voting of moderators

Ah, still, hopefully maybe the Scratch Team will see this thread so I get chosen, and if I do get chosen, people will see this in advance, so they will already have possible choices for voting, including me

I'll probably vote #1 for you, even though I don't know who else... If people like fg123 or scmb1 are going, eh. You'll definitely be in my Top 3, though. I would run, but I know the SR won't put me as a candidate.

Heh heh, good for you, because then you wouldn't win.

By "SR" do you mean "Sscratch Team", or somebody else? xP

Scratch Team.
In fact I have run because I randomly felt inspired by illusionist, but it'll probably be you, fg123 and I in my Top 3 winners. Now, in the other election, I voted for those who had the least votes so they would stay at the bottom
I won't do this now.
