Don't forget project types! - A freindly reminder

I have noticed lots of people are making blocks that make games easier to make. I like to write announcements and art, so I'm hoping Scratch 2.0 is not going to have too many game-related blocks. Then Scratch 2.0 is going to be useless to me. I've saw some wonderful animations too (see my fav in my favs  tongue )but how would game blocks help animations?

I am not saying that you HAVE to make blocks that help all types of projects. Just think about what Scratchers your block would benifit. Maybe a block that animates costumes would be nice. That could help games and animations because your player may need an animation to e.g. slash a sword or make fruit pop in a match-3 style game. It helps animations too because... well, guess! LOL!

Just a friendly reminder from me - again, just think and you can make tons of Scratchers happy.

Re: Don't forget project types! - A freindly reminder

I think this is a creative idea, with definitely lots of possibilities, however there's not many specific things that can make animating easier. If you have specific ideas, than definitely suggest them - but there's not many that I can think of from the top of my head. Maybe "glide (100) steps in (1) secs" and stuff  tongue .

They probably can't say there will be more or less game-related blocks, but if you have a suggestion for either animation blocks or game blocks, then just suggest them  smile . Hopefully most blocks can be applicable in the most number of ways possible.

Unless it's like highscores and stuff, anything used in game programming can be used in animation. So really, this is kinda a pointless suggestion. Name a few game-related blocks, and I'll explain.

Exactly. I think that many of the suggestions and known features for Scratch 2.0, such as social features, collapsible scripts, etc can be used for both games and animations. And why would it bother you if Scratch 2.0 had some blocks not particularly useful in animating? Just don't use them.
