Well, for the most part, an author's stories reflect his thoughts, so I would say, yes, the tl;dr is against God. The story is completely, against God and says that our life is basically a dream- that this is not reality.

But Twain chose a demonic, evil, twisted, killer to portray that train of thought.

That's true, but it doesn't change the moral of the story. From the Wikipedia article, can you see any other "moral"? not counting "don't trust a handsome teenager named Satan"

From the Wikipedia article, eh? Can't really base our opinions off of that..
Has anyone here actually read the book? I really want to, now, and I probably will when I finish Great Expectations.

The book is unfinished- Mark Twain presumably died before he could finish it.

It's unfinished. The only ending might even be the wrong ending- he wrote three different versions of the book, and after he died, the guy who held the manuscripts put the story with the wrong ending.

By the way, mind telling me your worldview now? This is the third time I've asked xD.

Like, tell me your view of the world OR your interpretation of teh bookz.

You can sort of read and interpret it, but it depends on how much they've done. We don't know that this was the decided ending, do we?

The world is a place.
Thats all I think of it as, really.. But, then again, I'm eleven. I have eighty years to figure this out.

You're eleven? Whoa! I thought you were 13 xD.

Wait, you said that you completely agreed with Mark Twain. I had all sorts of logic prepared for you. WHY MUST YOU SUBMIT SO EASILY?

I never directly stated that I completely agreed with him. (I think..)
And I'll probably think the same when I'm thirteen, anyway. However, I'm only eleven  tongue

Can we just act like you did so we can start (or finish) the debate? xD

Anyways, I wouldn't use my automatic success or failure mechanism like you just did- "...And I'll probably think the same when I'm thirteen, anyway. However, I'm only eleven  tongue "

Sure.

'tis only a joke.

Anyways, I'm not quite sure that what Satan said was Mark Twain's worldview- if he thought that the human race, God, and the people around him were his creation, and that he was basically the only person that could "think", then why did he write the book? If they were all his thoughts, then the people wouldn't really care about the book and stuff.

Also, in one of his versions of the book, Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn had adventures with Satan...I'm not sure that'd end too well...

Re: Who is scared by this?

I doubt it was Mark Twain's world view. And if it was, it was definitely not exactly as he put it in that book. I think it just depends on how you interpet it, and as for my interpretation: Well, I'm not very sure to be honest.
Ahaha, but then again, I never know what I'm talking about, ever  tongue

I think that it was somewhat his worldview, but likely not completely what he thought. Perhaps he died before he could 'take Satan down' so to speak, etc.?

True. To tell the truth, the copyright has expired, so you may be able to find it online for free.

Apologies to mods if the eBook has bad language. I obviously haven't yet read it.

Re: Who is scared by this?

Well, I'd prefer to finish the book I'm reading right now (Great Expectations  tongue ) before I try to read something as confusing as this, and this'd make an interesting addition to my book shelf, so I'll be patient and wait until I finish what I'm reading now, and then my parents'll let me get a new book. But I have to read Twilight, too o_O

And Tom Sawyer swears every other page, and this is probably similar XD (I dont mind, anyway.)

Uhh can we close this topic if the video was taken out anyways? Also it seems to be starting up some religious conversations.
