How Avatar Ripped Off Pocahontas

http://images.huffingtonpost.com/gen/130283/original.jpg

Thoughts?

Do you think it is a good movie even with the rip-off?

I make random things when I am bored.  tongue  (This topic, not the image)

Yes. Even thought the plots are practically the same, Avatar has simply amazing graphics, and it's really fun to watch.

Re: How Avatar Ripped Off Pocahontas

It's not a rip-off! It's just a similar storyline. Both are good movies for differant age groups.

Yes, but did you read the whole picture? With name changes to places and people they are exactly parallel.

Re: How Avatar Ripped Off Pocahontas

this is epic  big_smile  A total ripoff.

I thought Avatar was weird and very hippie-ish and sorta anti-military), but the effects were cool.

I was about to ask if that was ur name at the end O_O that would be bad.

I knew it was an old "cowboys versus indians" kind of cliche, but I didn't realize how close it was to a specific movie.  yikes

Can you really "rip-off" a true story?

I don't think Pocahontas was 100% true.

Not 100%, no, but pretty much everything that's in that sheet is true (im 93.7% sure of that).

Thanks for spoiling the film for me. I could easily do that with Iron Man and Astro Boy!

Re: How Avatar Ripped Off Pocahontas

I knew it was simular to a lot of things but not that simular. It did have a disney type ending. (character dies and suddenly wakes up right at the end)

In the true story of Pocahontas she did not marry John Smith, she married John Rolfe. That would be the equivalent of marrying the business guy on Avatar for unobtanium.
