Online scratch is totally rubbish!

Can't post comments for projects, the sound doesn't work, most projects don't work. The java player is rubbish. Everything worked fine when I first started. The whole online set-up seems to have got worse and worse. Really getting fed-up of substandard online experience. WHAT DO THE ONLINE MAINTAINERS ACTUALLY DO?
DOES ANYONE ACTUALLY LISTEN TO WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING HERE?

I GIVE UP.

Just DOWNLOAD the projects.

Retired from Scratch, but just the language itself. Not the forums.

Re: Online scratch is totally rubbish!

This what I got:

Your comment "It doesn't work for me cos the java player is [removed by Moderator]. Get no sound either (on most projects). I'll try downloading..." in Warrior 2 was not posted because the system considered it inappropriate automatically.
Sometimes this automatic censorship is incorrect and we apologize if this is the case. We remind you to use appropriate language for all ages, please read the Terms of Use

Thank you for patronising me. Try working as hard on getting the online system to work, mmmh? What a useless piece of [removed by Moderator]! I suppose now I'll be labelled as a troll rather then addressing the real issue the totally rubbish online implementation.

Goodbye!

Sorry to hear that you are having difficulties.  Yes, there are issues with the online implementation.  It's a totally separate application and has it's own set of idiosyncrasies.  That being said, there are people around that know how to make most projects work well online.  You can try the All About Scratch forum to ask for assistance if you want.

I understand that you are frustrated...but please keep your conversation polite.  This site is used by people of all ages, including young children.  You will find that people here are very helpful, if approached in a friendly fashion.

Okay, chill man. And I think some of your problems might be on your end, hmm? The site works fine for me, although yes, the Java player is rather buggy. And the comments system has absolutely nothing to do with Java.

Re: Online scratch is totally rubbish!

it's possible that you may need to update your java, maybe it's lag due to limited space on your computer, or it might be something else.

Re: Online scratch is totally rubbish!

Okay, thanks for the feedback.

My apologies for the outbreak. Will leave projects shelved for now until stuff is improved for linux and the online stuff is improved.

Scratch really is a great product if it's working fine on your system I envy you, lol.
Once again apologies for the frustrated response. It was out of order. Sorry!

Excited about this while I wait for Scratch Linux to improve:-

Re: Online scratch is totally rubbish!

Scratch can work slowly on some computers - why not try quitting any programs that don't need to be running? It might also be useful to simply download the project and run it on your computer.  smile
