Advanced Programing

I would like to see some advanced functions to scratch, like JavaScript scripting,  a animation timeline, and a export to SWF option (or export to EXE). I think these functions would allow for more advanced programs.

And arrays. Can't forget those. But I read in another post that it might confuse less experienced people, so why not release an advanced edition with all these as well (If you aren't putting these in v1.3)

Re: Advanced Programing

uhh... 3D is the hardest programming there is because scratch is supposed to be 2D, but most of my 2D games are decently complicated, download them to see how complicated they are

Re: Advanced Programing

I sincerely wish they could give an option to export to swf, that would be really helpful since the file type they use now really isn't very widely used.

Ummm... You want to program in scratch in javascript? How is that supposed to work?

Also, for the other things you mentioned. It just sounds like you just listing the features of flash. What scratch really needs is more blocks although, considering scratch isnt meant for advanced programs its pretty good the way it is now.

They wont do that because all projects are meant to be open source and for .swf files, you cannot download them to look at the source.
