My suggestion is to bring back the Blue Dot Cricket! It was affordable, easily programmed, and not bound to any particular building system! The new pico cricket is very expensive and isn't the same.
For those of you who don't know what the Blue Dot Cricket is, it is a little box that you can program with a simple language called LOGO. I think it was invented by Natalie Rusk. You can attach any sensor, motor or light from any electronics store. You can make it do anything! People in my organization put animated sculptures on hats that are created with Blue Dot Crickets. I would love for these to be brought back. Also, it would be cool if we could program the crickets with scratch which I think is easier and more powerful than logo. Post if you're with me!

well they invented it, so I figure they must have stopped making it! I would love for them to be brought back by the life long kindergarten group, and maybe with scratch instead of logo.
