I would like to become a curator to show some projects that I think should be seen. I would select games and animations. Games because they can be fun, and animations based on whether it's funny, or just cool.

Can I be a curator? I have been on Scratch for a long time. By the way how do you get [blocks]http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/post.php?tid=17464#req_message[/blocks] "You DARE Not Agree with Me" ?

I would love to be a curator. right now, i just want to bring attention to the great games and animations and everything else that deserves to be front page, but has next to no tags. I'm on every`day, so i'd put new things on frequently. i appreciate you reading this!

i would like to be one, recently i have been trying to help people as much as possible but i couldn't, i just moved, but now i'm settled in. so i really want to help ALL TYPES of projects get on the front page and have people feel the exiting sensation! some projects i would do is blip, road maker, simple landscape, and more! i would pick any projects desevering, i would not take bribes, i don't do art trades or anything though so i really don't know of any bribes, i would accept people to spam when i'm curator, i might even make a project for that! so i hope you look this and pick me!

Well, I've noticed a lot lately, that the front page is kinda spammed up, with projects which just have some text and a couple of pictures and get top viewed for, as far as I can see, have nothing Scratchy or programmed or complex. I have put something up about this issue, and I just don't like it one bit. So, if I became a curator, I would never, never ever, show a single project with minor scripting. I'd show something that is actually GOOD, you know, something like 08jackt would make, you know what I mean? I would select people like jaapjaap2 (he's a bit unerated, he's a real nice guy, you know) because his latest project has been up for a few days now and has barely got over 20 views. Shame, really, because the games he makes are possibly more complex than kcdscratch's Sonic Advance games (no offence to kcd, he's a good Scratcher, too!)!
Basically, I would show underated people's projects, and I would take suggestions (if I were to be a curator) from other Scratchers, and take a look at some of the projects they recommend. I wouldn't, however, JUST show stuff that is underated and by people I know - I'd take a whole afternoon per week if I'd have to - to find someone who is average, you know, take a look at their project, and baddabing, baddaboom - if I like it, I would put it on a list, consider it, depending on the popularity the Scratcher already has, and the diversity the project contains.
To conclude, I just really want projects that deserve to get on the front page, ones that deserve to have a thousand loveits and a million views, but never got it.
So, I would greatly appriciate it if I became a curator.
Thanks!

Cool, This is a great idea! If you where to choose me I would choose a variety of unknown games. Ones which make you think Oooh and Aaah. I love platformers, games, and scrollers. And I especially like games which have something different, for example power-ups. Thanks for your time

This is my *3rd* attempt at becoming a Curator. I would curate Projects I think are unique or stand out from the rest, maybe ones getting less fame than they should. I shall probably post a 4th post in this Forum some time in the future if I don't get curated because I satnd by myself that I have what it takes and people would enjoy MY curated projects.

I've been on Scratch for a long time. Back when most projects where amazing. So I have an idea of what a good project is. That's why I think I should be Curator, so thanks, and bye.

I would really love an opportunity to become curator. Over the roughly 3 years I've been around scratch, either watching others program; or, eventually trying it for myself, I've developed a deep love for the program and those who make it possible. Scratch has done so much good for my life, and for the lives of countless others, that I can't help but want to be involved in one way or another. Through an opportunity such as curation, I hope I could help others realize the widespread creativity and joy that I myself have found in the site. As a curator, I would choose unique projects which are cleverly coded, have a base in good math or science, and deserve more notice then they currently receive.

I'm interested in showing star wars projects, especially projects that I think deserve more appreciation than they're getting. I've noticed lately that the front page is kinda full of projects which just have some text and a couple of pictures and get on the front page for, as far as I can see, no reason at all. These projects have nothing Scratchy or programmed or interesting. They're just slideshows! So, if I became a curator, I wouldn't show lame projects with minor scripting. I'd show something that is actually GOOD, and more importantly, fun to play.

When applying to be curator, it's good to give some thought to the kind of projects you'd like to show. "Cool projects that most people have never seen!" is a nice idea, but it doesn't really give us a good sense of what you like and why. We want to know what makes a project interesting to you.
Try viewing the projects in your favorites, and see if you can find a theme that describes them. Talk about that theme in your post, and consider providing a few links to good examples of that theme.
For example, I really like projects that use sound input from the microphone to draw interesting designs on the screen. Here's an example of one that I recently added to my favorites: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/MitFan/874786

Good to know. I will rework my speech to account for that.
