press control and then print screen. then go into paint and press paste. then save the picture. then when you go to put it into scratch, press " choose new sprite from file" then click computer on the side of the window that pops up. C: then Users, your username (on your computer) and then pictures. then find the picture you took and import it.
hope this helps  smile

If it's parts of the Scratch interface that you want to put into your project, you can right-click on the stage (or on a sprite), and select "grab screen region for new sprite/costume". Then, drag a rectangle around the part of the Scratch interface that you want, and it makes a sprite/costume with it  smile

For partial screenshots outside of Scratch: On some computers, there's a program called "snipping tool" (in the "Accessories" folder of "All Programs", normally). If you want to take a picture of just one part of the screen quickly and easily (without having to crop it), take out the snipping tool, and draw a rectangle around the bit of the screen you want to take a picture of.

If you don't have the snipping tool on your computer, but want to take a partial screenshot outside of Scratch, follow lilacfuzz's method, then, when you paste it in paint (or any other image editor), resize/shape it to get the piece that you want  smile

They first posted on the forums before the New Scratcher rule became effective.

And just use Print Screen, and then paste in into paint like lilacfuzz101 said. The button is labeled "PrtSc" and is to the right of the F12 key.
