My point is that undeniable proof doesn't really exist.  People say science is 100% reliable, but in fact it is only giving us the probability of something.  Science from 100 years ago is very different from science now.  Science is ever changing and can never truly be proved.

We can prove that gravity is there, and that light truly exists scientifically. We can prove the existence of many things. We can't prove some things, but, for the most part, things can be proven scientifically. SO THERE.

How do you know, our whole lives aren't just some dream that we might wake up from, or that our world, our whole universe is in a small crystal ball, and were being watched by some little kid staring intently into our world? You have no proof, how do you know that science is really science? Do you know if there are parallel universes all around us that we can't even see? Maybe reality isn't even real, were just inside of some tube that aliens control, we think we're doing normal, daily stuff, but are we? Technically, you can't prove anything... You know all that stuff teachers teach you in school... history, science, well no one really knows about history, it's all just guesses from evidence(that might not be good enough.) Schools just accept it as fact, but technically, it's not

Actually, I pondered this a lot when I was little xD. I was always thinking "What if life's a dream, or stuff isn't happening quite as I think it is." Let me ask you this question: can you think? If you can, then you obviously "are". Can robots think? Well, it depends on what you define "thinking" as. If you define it as being able to process commands and decide what to do and stuff, then yes, robots can think. That's not quite what "thinking" means. Here is what dictionary.com defines thinking as:

to have a conscious mind, to some extent of reasoning, remembering experiences, making rational decisions, etc.

Do robots have a conscious mind to some extent of reasoning, remembering experiences, making rational decisions? They can (in the future) do all that except for the first. We know this is not some long dream and that we're not stuck in some kid's snowglobe because we can think. Inanimate objects cannot think. You can not think in a dream. Also, if we were stuck in a snowglobe, why would there be space?

History? Actually, what schools teach are not quite educated guesses. Can we find many books and artifacts from [a] time period that say the same thing? In most cases, yes. Can we find ruins of a city, wall inscriptions, etc. that also point to this same thing? In some cases, yes. Don't you think that if many, many people write about something, we find artifacts that point to that thing, and ruins, etc. that point to that same thing, it must be true? Something is labeled as a theory when it can not be proven- do/have dragons exist(ed)? Well, let's see- can we find bones of dragons that appear to be real? No. Do we find historical records that indicate dragons did [something]? In most cases, no, but in some, it could be that the people primitively believe a dragon came and swallowed their city whole, but the ruins point otherwise, in which case, this would be legend/folklore.

That picture has to be fake- a house built on a hill that steep would slant too much.

Why are alien races always the superior race? I think they should be primitive for a change.

Well, the universe is VAST, so there are probably lifeforms more intelligent then us by MILLIONS of years, and some that are just gripping onto the verge of civilization.

The universe is so big to the point where there are probably other habitable planets that do NOT have sentient life on it that the specific race can settle on.

While posting this, I wondered how ships could make it so far. I have multiple suggestions for this. But that's off topic.

Travel at lightspeed for a few hundred thousand years...

And that's another thing- if there were so many alien races, why do they choose us to visit (and not communicate with) out of so many other planets?

I'm saying no alien is visiting us, because for dominator or friendly alike, they were come in orbit around our planet and engage communication. Or, at least hail death on us and eventually annihilate our species.

But I don't really want to think about that. o.o

And about the traveling, I think that they use HyperSpace travel (Or something like that). They create a artificial warp-hole and use it to travel through the folds of space at hundreds of thousands of light years. It's like the galaxy is a peice of paper. They fold it, and fold it, and fold it, and fold it, and fold it, and fold it. To the point where the universe is MUCH smaller, and can be traveled easily.

And three reasons why were probasbly not visited:

1) We might be in an unhabited part of the galaxy.

2) Maybe the sentient lifeforms want us to enter the stars without knowledge of other life. Maybe they don't want to uplift us, because we'd probably ask that after weeks of silence and shock of their powerful precense. They could be watching us with some powerful type of technology in a close-by solar system like Alpha Centauri RIGHT NOW.

3) If the universe is ever-growing, maybe were the first ones to gain intelligence in this galaxy. Who knows? This question wll remain unawnsered for a long time, due to the fact only our own robots have touched the CLOSEST planet to us.

And what still makes me chuckle to this day is that we call our planet "Earth", our solar system "The Solar System", our moon "The Moon", and our sun "The Sun." It's actually VERY stupid.

I'm guessing when we have to name other solar systems and introduce ours, we'lll call our planet "Terran", and moon "Luna", and our sun/solar system "Sol". Much better eh? But then the other lifeforms will simplify it to our homeworld being Sol III, our moon Sol III-1, and of course our solar system Sol. If we meet aliens in my lifetime, and they call it by their real nams, I'll give em' a pat on their back/whatever it is.

Actually, only this part of the galaxy that can sustain life. But, by sheer coincidence, ( tongue ) it is also perfect for observing the rest of the galaxy and universe.

Do we know? We haven't taken a close look at the rest of this galaxy, remember... cause' really our insanely slow robots haven't quite made it out of our solar system.

Well, maybe... but not that far out of it, I know that.

Because, if it was any closer to the center of the galaxy than a certain amount, then it couldn't sustain life because of all the deadly radiation. And if we were any further out than a certain amount, then it would be too cold.

Who knows? Maybe this alien is meant for freezing tempatures, or maybe a race that bathes in radiation and magma. There may be aliens that live in gas giants, or silicon-based lifeforms that live on a complete crystilline worlds.

We don't quite know that, do we? We explored our solar system with robots, and our moon and planet with ourselves... so that's not proven. We need to see it for ourselves.

Sure, it may be 'proven', and it is. By the people who don't know that because they haven't even seen it.

No, but still. Think. Aliens are not all going to be humanoids with amost identical genetics. It's actually a very stupid concept and I disagree with it to the fullest. Aliens are aliens, not humans with green skin an walnut-shaped eyes that could of only lived on Mars since were the only habitable solar system and their watching us in cramped little UFOs.

Re: Have you seen a UFO?

But there are still things which living organisms have to do. Seven, to be exact.

Respiration;

sensitivity (they respond to their environment);

movement;

nutrition (they nourish themselves);

growth (they grow and develop);

excretion; and

reproduction.

Re: Have you seen a UFO?

Who says that just because their not on a planet like ours that they can't do that? Their might be a hot magma planet with lifeforms that are adapted to the intense heat, starting as mere cells. They evolved, and one of them happened to gain sentience.

So they have

Respiration (They might not breathe oxygen, maybe something else);

sensitivity (They can respond to their enviorment, obviously);

movement (Well, once again, of course);

nutrition (The other animals);

growth (Yes,);

excretion (Yesssss); and

reproduction (Yep).

And I right, or am I right?

Yet there are some places on Earth where not even bacteria can survive. So you're argument that mere cells can survive/adapt to the environment that they're in is completely invalid. Sorry.

To our minds it invalid, stupid, ilogical, and stubborn, I know. But, if we knew more, and it was fully proven, and we had searched the ENTIRE galaxy to find we're the only ones, then I would take your (and pretty much everyone else's, lol)thoughts more seriouly.

And besides, the only bactirea we know of is the bactirea on our planet and the fossils we found on Mars. Mars was probably the old Earth, so we only know of the bactirea that live with us now.

There may be bactirea that die at our temp, and live at warmer, much warmer, tempatures. We don't know, because we haven't explored the entire galaxy and proven that I'm wrong.

BUT, if everything I'm saying is truly wrong, that how about this very spot at a different galaxy? Won't life be able to sprout there?

Considering the vast, no, that's not a big enough word. Only four letters and one syllable. The enormous size of the solar system, millions, maybe even billions of miles in size, plus the billions of light years in the galaxy, it's almost impossible.
