Anyone have good sets to suggest? I normally like ones with a fiction element.

Also, which is the best Lego board game?

Hmm. Hard to say.

Creationary is nice, and really uses your imagination  smile .

Minotaurus is fun with a bit of strategy.

Race 3000 is pretty fun.

Those are the ones I have....

Any good sets?

Some rather affordable suggestions please. (Small ones from about &10 to $20 dollars ideal)

Oh yeah, that's why LEGO Games sets are great - unlike other LEGO sets, these are unbelievably cheap.

Monster 4 is pretty fun, as it is $15, and it's essentially a Connect 4 game for 2-4 players except there's many extra moves to remove players to the board and such.

Race 3000 that I mentioned, is also $20.

Orient Bazaar is quite cool, as it involves selling and buying merchandise between the players and making profit and such. Lots of cool jewelry parts! 5 Microfigs! $20

Pirate Code is a great game for the mind, as it is similar to mastermind, but with other interesting tweaks. Has lots of jewels, and some pretty cool chests. And a skeleton! $20

Lava Dragon is pretty cool, as you have to climb to the top avoiding the lava, and blocking your opponents  smile . 4 microfigs! $15

Magma Monster is exciting as you have to to cross the lava, adding blocks to lead your path and blocking your opponents. 4 microfigs and 2 bats! $15

There are 3 $10 games, but to me they're not that great  hmm  Very little playability. Here's the complete list of games: http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Leaf.aspx?cn=595

Another nice thing is all of these sets are portable - unlike other LEGO boxes, these are actually more like shoe-boxes, so it's not like normal ones where you have to use a knife or your nails to get through the tape and then cut the box open to give you room to put your pieces in and stuff.

Lastly they encourage to play around with the rules of the game, perhaps change the dice or winning requirements or game elements to make it especially fun  smile .

Before you posted this (or at least I saw it) I started exploring about the Hogwarts game, being a Harry Potter fan. It was about $30 which will just about broke me, but I don't need it for anything else right now.

Anyway, at first I was hesitant to buy it, but it came with 5 main character microfigures from the series that you don't even use in the game (nice of them) and it had gotten a generally positive review from someone who wasn't even a HP fan. I figure I can interchange the four kids (Harry, Hermione, Ron, Draco) for the generic characters (the forum with the review believed it was the prefects, as two were recognizable as characters who were), plus it has rules for 3 modes.

Does that mean you bought it?  smile

That's another good game. I would have recommended it - but it wasn't int that $10-$20 price range.

You can see a great review of it here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.p … opic=44223 (lots of pictures!)

That review is the one I said was generally positive from someone who is not a Harry Potter fan. XD

And I will (hopefully) get to go to Wal-Mart or Target to buy it tomorrow.

LEGO Scratch Cat Prototype 1 is finished! xD

So now I just need you guys to tell me what you think  wink  All feedback is appreciated.

I've built the main body and legs and stuff in real life so I know that works, but I'm still building the head, so I'll have to make sure that works.

Just a little more work on the head. Maybe make the entire thing larger so it doesn't appear as blocky?

Re: LEGO Center

Current Project - Empire State Building Replica
Right now, I am finishing up my replica of the empire state building. It is a little over 7 feet high, and 4 1/2 feet wide. I also wanted to use my NXT, just because I haven't used it in a while. So, I made a robot building climber. It just senses the top and bottom, so all it does is go up and down. But I made it so light that it doesn't tip over the building. Its a frame with wheels on the end(that's what moves it) and in the middle is the brain.

Tell me what you think!

Too late  tongue  I got it to 7 feet 2 inches, then the robot climber went crazy. It didn't break, but some crucial pieces fell off. Right now I am doing some remodeling, so it is back to 6 feet 4 inches, but I made the climber into a builder. Well, sort of. It goes to the top and places bricks, but it really sucks  tongue  I'll try and get some pics.

My webcam couldn't take the slightest bit of the actual thing, so here is the part that got destroyed. The thing on top is what I used to lead up to the point at the top of the building. The lower part is the first smaller layer, the hardest thing in the whole structure to make  tongue

I don't know, haven't used LDD in centuries so I don't know about new pieces and stuff. But I think there are 1x2 pieces with eye decals, if so you could try these.

Eh, there are 1x1 bricks and 2x2 bricks with eyes, but the eyes are too small, so it wouldn't work.
