Well, you could use gimp to make it avatar size then upload it

Go to tinypic.com and upload it in a smaller size. Then you can save the smaller version of the picture and use that as your profile pic.

There should be a dropdown menu by resize; click the arrow and select what size you want the picture to be.

Oh, it's an animation? Then you might have to download gimp and resize it with that.
