Re: Help test a new way to play with Scratch projects online!

wouldn't it be pretty easy to cheat on the games if you can edit the scripts right there?

Yeah, I guess it would be pretty easy, depending on the scripts. But, if someones does do that, they wouldn't be playing the game as it was meant to be played, so it'd probably not even be half as fun as it would be playing it normally  big_smile
Though, honestly, it can be fun (And educational XD) to mess with game's scripts to make it easier to win  lol  But "Cheating" isn't really possible. I guess you could kind of on games that you post your score as a comment, but there really isn't a way to cheat, in my opinion.

WOW, that's so cool! It's amazing, I love it! Keep it, it also runs projects a bit quicker!  smile

Ask me what I'm doing, wait an hour than roll a die, if it's 4-6, I'm playing Skyrim, if it's 1, I'm eating, if it's 2-3 I'm programming.

You should be able to show/hide/create/delete variables and lists

Re: Help test a new way to play with Scratch projects online!

I found a very strange glitch: On my project 15 Sides, pushing the flag a few times creates variables.  hmm

bye 1.4, we all loved you. but we all outgrew the site. 2.0 is a welcome change.

Re: Help test a new way to play with Scratch projects online!

I really hate the experimental veiwer it seems a bit to flashy (seiriosly no pun intended) and on projects that i would normaly be able to see all the sprites on i cant see them all without scrolling and you have to remember what couler each of the blocks are (having used scratch for nearlly 2 years thats no prob for me but for people just joning that could be hard) for what it gains in style it looses in functionality and i prefer scratch as it is currently and this becomeing 2.0 would put me off scratch forever (and i would probably move on to alice which alows for 3d)

I agree on everything there, except for the leaving Scratch and moving to a different language...  hmm

By the way, will Scratch 2.0 be available in other languages?

*checks wiki article*
It doesn't say.  sad

My guess is that it will; it would be silly not to allow it, Scratch is used in schools all over the world.  big_smile

I'm 100% sure it will - a lot of the focus on more recent versions of Scratch has been to allow for international languages. While I don't think there has been any confirmation, it would be ridiculous otherwise.

Re: Help test a new way to play with Scratch projects online!

Very nice, I have not seen a bug, loads a bit slow on the viewer but understandable.  smile

Please read, Jens and Bryan: I wish BYOB had an online version where you could share projects to someone else, enter their IP and they get a message next time they come on online BYOB. That would be fantastic!

I can't see a Reporter block's value by clicking the block... and it's really hard to open up a drop-down menu - I'm not yet sure exactly how to do it.  hmm

hmm  Will 1.4 still be available for download? If everything fails, we can always circulate that instead... xD

Re: Help test a new way to play with Scratch projects online!

But 1.4 won't work with the new Scratch Website, will it?  hmm

I'm worried if a lot of the little tiny features in Scratch we don't really notice will change as a result of rewriting Scratch - some projects might not work correctly. I was playing an innocent project, and in the normal Scratch a sprite wouldn't 'go through' a roof (that's supposed to happen) - but in the experimental viewer, it did.

Yeah...Some projects might not work. We aren't gonna test it out on 1 million projects.

But hmm, maybe we can. xD
