I believe the max height for sig pics is 150 pixels, I'm not sure about width.

I think if the image is too wide it automaticly get resized.
My site Find someone post count. Click posts under username. Find number of pages. Times that by 40 for min and 60 for max and you have a rough estimate of post count.

Single images automatically resize if they are bigger than 500px by 150 px 
However, if multiple images are put in, the signature can become too big, and it won't automatically accommodate for this - if you're planning to use more than one image, make sure that the heights are less than 150, and the widths add to less than 500

And if you see a signature that's too tall, report it so the moderstors can trim it.

Each image will get resized down to 500px by 150 px if it is to big (Keeping its ratio) but it is possible to a few 500 by 150 images and make your signature really tall, but that is not recommended and a moderator will probably trim it down.

Yeah... above the signature submission box there's a message that asks you to keep your signature 150 pixes or less.
