Look, I had a thread, it took me almost an hour to make, I pressed submit, and it said 'Bad request. The link you followed was incorrect or outdated' when I hadn't even followed a link. I went back, and now it's erased, and I'm not making it again. Why did this happen? I wasted an hour making a thread just to lose it all.

I don't think there's really a reason for that.

Next time if you see this, don't click the "Go back" link. Click the "Go back" button on your browser. On most browsers, your text should stay.

Off-topic: That's why I hate "Bad Request". tongue (Do you remember that I said so?)

I think it's because you've waited too long before clicking submit. It's happens to me a lot.

That happens to me occasionally. I always copy my text before pressing submit if it's a longer post. Sometimes it tells me I made a bad request... Once, while doing some moderator action that was impossible, it told me I made a "bad choice" tongue

That has happened to me, to, so I just go back and copy the text. Then I post the topic again and it works. Sometimes it says:

"You don't have permission to access this page" (or something like that) becuse of that stupid random logging out glitch! mad

Althogh, I tried using Google Chrome and it hasn't done any of this (yet), where Safari is the one causing problems for me. big_smile

Internet Explorer does it too. I just copy and paste if I spent alot of thought onto the post. Usually I can predict when the bad request is going to happen, so I copy it then.

Happened to me before. On both forums.

When it happens, then press back on your browser. If it says that it has to resend, do it.

I did press the back button on my browser, everything went.

I did copy it, but paste didn't work.

I am using IE8.

Try getting another like Google Chrome. IE is bad. Chrome is faaast.

Write long posts in notepad. Then copy and paste into the submit box.

Try refreshing the page, maybe? I think they disable everything after you hit "submit."

That happens here all the time too for me. Luckily I can remember whatever it was that I typed. It usually happens when a certain post was deleted and it was the same post link I followed to get to the topic.

It just happens when you take too long. In fact, it happened to me earlier today! I was writing on this topic http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=535727#p535727, and I had to take a bath before I could finish, and when I got back, I hit Submit, and it gave me the error! Just hit the browser's Back button, and you will get your text back!
