The Controversial Room

Hello and Welcome to the TCR (The Controversial Room)

The TCR is a place for lively and open ended discussion and for people who are passionate about a topic to share their feelings or give their opinions based on any topic they care to talk about (a relatively serious topic, please) or the one that will be updated throughout time. MODS WILL CLOSE THIS IF IT BECOMES A SITE FOR FLAMES. I simply created this out of hopes the scratch community would be able to kindly talk about such topics.

CURRENT TOPIC: Opinions on Wars

YOUR RESPONSE DOESN'T NEED TO BE COMPLEX, IT JUST NEEDS TO BE AMONG THE MOOD.

How to use TCR: TCR is a template for talking about something in the world that you dislike, really like, or would like to address. It is for discussion of these things in a respectful, inspired manner. You may post about any topic you would like, but try to keep the theme relevant, polite and courteous. Please think and read over your post before you submit, this way we can avoid things we didn't mean to say or hadn't completely thought over. Posts should be thought over and about a paragraph at least. You may also collaborate or talk to other users/ reply to their ideas, but be respectful in disagreeing, remember that this is not for racism, stereotypes, non courteous political or religious themes, bias or inappropriate things, although you certainly may talk about this, just be sure it's polite and kind to the audience.

What to do when you post: Please state what you are talking about at the top, and label the parts of your post (i.e. reasons, ideas, disagreements etc.)

What TCR is NOT for: The TCR is not for anger, fear, hatred, racism, biases or anything unkind. Anything aimed at anyone in a way to make them feel sad or angry will not be tolerated. TCR is not a place to chat, be used as a chatroom, spam or troll. TCR is used for lively conversation about big topics and remember to be respectful. Any disrespect also will not be tolerated. Please use your best judgment.

Debate in TCR: If you disagree with something...
-State your reason(s) for disagreeing
-Say examples or inferences
-Tell us what you think
-Talk about the topic respectfully no matter what.

If you dislike something...
-Say what it is you don't like
-Why you do not like this
-And a possible solution for this problem or what you would like to happen
-Also, be respectful.

If you strongly agree...
-Say what you like about this
-What you think
-Add on to the topic
-Be kind and courteous

If anything occurs that is negative, moderators or team, you have my permission to shut this down, however, give a thoroughly thought through (Tongue twister) reason for closing it.

REMEMBER TO BE RESPECTFUL WHEN POSTING! THANK YOU!

Have ideas for topics? Post below in a post labeled; TOPIC IDEA
Have questions or comments? Post below in a post labeled; Question/Comment

Opinion on War

Wars are something normally generated from hate, which sometimes stems from fear. Most of the time, actually.
Opinions: War is something I dislike because for future generations if the dilemma is not solved, we're told we don't like these people and that's that. That is how racism is formed. We don't think about why we don't like these people, and take a step back. Most of us simply accept what we're taught to believe, and if we don't, what do you do? Maybe you're even looked down upon. And humans are capable of so much more.

Not to mention the blood and death that it inflicts. Hatred grows on either side out of sadness or anger from killing. And in the end, it's really ourselves hurting eachother. We're all human beings. That's all we are. Flesh and blood. And when we destroy eachother, is that what's intended? Fight for what you believe in? Hurting someone that might have been your best friend if you had known them. Killing innocent people that have nothing to do with you.

And there's so much ignorance in the world. People don't understand why others are different. They don't know much of that, and so they fear it.

How do you capture something so strong in just...a mere thought or idea? A simple block of text? You don't. But maybe, just maybe, you can change yourself or the world with these thoughts. Maybe.

So I tell you, Fear becomes hate. Hate becomes anger. And I ask you; what happens then?

Hell. I want to talk about the state in Israel. I have an uncle who was in the unit that boarded the Flotilla ship on May 31st.

Re: The Controversial Room

My opinon on war is that wars can be fought for just reasons.  America wouldn't exist without the Revolutionary War, and were the Greatest country on earth. Winston Churchill said himself if the USA didn't get involved in WW2, then the Nazis would have won the war, becuase the UK didn't have enough manpower and resources. If the Nazis won, all the Jews in Europe would have been killed. I know the dangers, horrers, and morals of combat, but I fully support the US military and I will serve my country when I am older and go where they tell me to go and fight whom i am told to fight, whatever the danger, cause I feel thats my duty as an American. Yes, I have read all the most graphic war storys (Flags of our Fathers for example), but I still feel that way.

In a way I agree and disagree with you at the same time  smile

So does that mean we shouldn't defend ourselfs when someone else attacks us? And just let them do what they want? If you haven't noticed, peace talks didn't stop Hitler.

I think war is fun, especially when you get to shoot down helicopters, stop nukes from hitting the US, and fight terrorists in Russia and Brazil.

I completely agree. I started this in hopes the scratch community could handle this, but if it can't, that's a shame.

War is fun? Yes, it is, especially when you see the man next to you get shot, and you try to help him, but in your heart you know he will die and you cannot do anything about it.

Well, I'm speaking about starting wars, I suppose I should have been more specific. It's true, peace talks didn't, but I created this topic in hopes someone would become inspired and do something more than simply talk about changing the world.

Re: The Controversial Room

Wars are horrific things which can cause mass destruction, execution, and anxiety all over the world. Even in Germany, for example, I bet the Germans still know about the USA/Israel war. Sometimes wars can shape the future of Earth. For example, World War 2 definitely cause a big impact.

Wars are an unfortunate part of life that usually can't be avoided. If you want your country to stay protected, you'll eventually have to fight.

Re: The Controversial Room

War stinks. It seems really awful that we would go out and purposefully kill/injure people because we want something, are scared, or are ignorant.

But it's also just something we have to accept. War is a way we solve problems right now, and we probably aren't going to find other ways to solve problems soon since we've used fighting for so long. And sometimes war is necessary; if we're attacked, we need to fight back.
