Sound cool! Maybe you can post it up online so other LEGO builders here can attempt to build a LEGO Scratch Cat!

Definitely!
Plus, if I was to do it, it would allow people to buy it (I wouldn't get profit, I don't think)!

I admire anybody that can make anything recognizable with a needle and thread. And to make something 3D is even more impressive. I think it looks cute!
The closest I've come to sewing something 3D is my skin-on-frame kayak. And it's not very huggable

Buy you could still certainly ride on the kayak!

This has inspired me to make a plushie :3 But I'm really stuck on ideas. I'm thinking of doing China from Hetalia because he'd make a really cute plushie, or maybe a tiny Issun from Okami

Is this your first plushie? Normally animal patterns are harder than human ones, but I found a fairly tutorial for a 3D plush dog that could be good for a beginner here.

It looks kind of like Oki from Okami
I might still make Issun though, since his form is like a very simplified human's, and his helmet is really cute XD It's like a mushroom with limbs.

Here's what I have so far:
I just have to do the head (so I'm maybe 1/2 or 2/3 done?)
Also ignoring the USD 10.00 fee for hand-packing the lego set, it currently cost USD 15.67 >.>. So it does cost a lot more than I wish it could be.

That's pretty awesome how you can get it shipped though

Oh, wow, looks pretty good so far. I wonder how you're going to tackle designing the head; I'd imagine that would be the hardest part (at least in my opinion).

Yeah, because his head is HUGE. And you need everything to look somewhat proportionate to the original reference.

Yeah, i suggested a dog because I thought you might consider wanting to make a little Oki or Ammy plush. Most people who I talk to usually want to dive into making a 3D plush right away, but are usually become frustrated when they find the patterns so difficult. (Case in point, look at BabyLondonStar's tutorial, very good, but probably not something a beginner would attempt).

Okay, so just the standard fabric that you find at craft stores should be good enough? I'm thinking about doing it soon, and then by the time the next year, 4-H judging will come again and I'll be able to take home a nice ribbon for my improved plushs!

Now THAT'S what probably would happen, right?More like MRN makes cheddargirl design another plushie, one that is more immortal and can last throughout MRN's lifetime

So then it would be something like the Tails Doll? [/offtopiccreepymemething]

4-H judging? Never heard of that before.
Mnn, it depends what the craft store is selling. For example, felt might be frowned upon (it is harder to work with than regular cloth), but yet it is also cheap. Regular cotton or polyester cloth is more pricey, but easier to work with (I think most plush makers usually end up going with suede as their choice of cloth). And, of course, the quality of the cloth at one store might be better than the other.

Okay, I suppose I'll just see the different cloths and decide
And 4-H is a recreation club. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4-H Every year, you can get projects you made for the fair judged. You can even go to state fair with some
That's usually livestock though.

I added a bit more.
Now, I've started a bit of the head (looks like a robot xD). The head can turn for nice playability
Also the arms can now turn for playability too
Just like the tail...
Unless you guys have any better suggestions for eyes, I'll just keep on working
And to make sure the body is good and structural, I have built a good amount of this in real life to test things out. Like the arms. There's a peg to connect the arm with friction, and a peg without friction (so it would fall to a 180 degree angle rather than 90). So before it was the second, but I fixed it so it was the first, so that's good...

Yeah, I told helltank I would. Rufflebee keeps her promises
My attempt at making a plushie is going to be delayed, due to the fact that I have still yet to finish my homework, and school starts on Monday.
