Hey bananaman114, I think I can explain what happened.

The picture of the Scratch Cat was posted on Photobucket; Photobucket allows for images to be edited/changed online, without changing the image URL. The person who posted it on Photobucket changed the image of the Scratch Cat to something inappropriate, so everyone who had a Scratch Cat image in their signature (such as yourself) also were affected.

This trick is actually not uncommon. Similar ones are done when hotlinking has been detected (the original owners would swap out the original image with something).

A small recommendation: if you want to put an image in your signature, then you will probably want to upload it where it's safe and where you are the only one who will be editing it (for example, you own Photobucket account).

Listen up, this image of the Scratch Cat is from my Photobucket account, and I can assure you this one will not be altered.
