Downloading...

Whenever I download a Scratch Project on my computer it asks me what I should open it up with. I click Scratch. Then, it says "Squeak: select an image file" or something like that. So i tried saving it and opening it up manully in Scratch, but THAT wont work! What should i do?

Re: Downloading...

Have you tried saving the file to someplace, then going into the scratch program and opening it with the open option under the file menu? Since Scratch is actually a Squeak image file, you can't open projects in it the same way you can with other programs.

No, I don't mean browsing to the file, clicking on it, and then when it asks what to open it with, selecting Scratch. I meant opening Scratch up, then opening the project that way. With Scratch, it's not the same thing.

EDIT: Wait, I just tried it for myself, and the way I said wouldn't work worked. O_O That's odd. It didn't before. Well, try it anyway I guess.

Hm... Are you sure you're looking in the right place? Try saving it to somewhere like the desktop.

I know your problem. Is it a popup asking you to select a file? Or an error message?

Squeak cant take over Scratch. What are you talking about?  tongue

And to take a picture of the screen, (screenshot) press the print screen key on your keyboard and paste it into an image editor, such as Paint.

Re: Downloading...

I know what the problem is! You dragged Scratch out of the Scratch folder. You need to have it in there or it won't work. I would suggest making a shortcut and dragging it to where ever you want it.
