The recent thread about what's missing, found here, made me thinking, how can I bring back 2007? Then I thought about maybe doing what we did back then! So here is the '07 project!
Starting September 1st, for the whole month, those who decide to participate must only post on threads in the main forums, and must make at least 2 projects. The projects don't have to be huge projects, just simple ones are fine too. Please post links to all the projects. I'll post links on this post to the projects you guys make.

Is it okay if we post in miscellaneous a little? I'll do this.
For every post I make in miscellaneous I will make one project. That way it evens itself out.

I'm participating for sure! I try not to post in Miscellaneous that much (but I'm afraid I'll have to do so for moderating reasons - those are OK, right?) and I really like making projects. Count me in!
That's okay, and thanks!

i don't think this will work.
also, 2007 wasn't that great. everyone (excluding archmage, m44, ect) were complete n00bs at the time. so even the front paged projects weren't that great. (well, better than art projects, but still.)

Ooh ooh ooh! I was thinking of this yesterday.
I don't post in Miscellaneous that much (well, I won't be now that the list is closed), but a month would be a bit irritating. ^_^
And my projects take more than a month to complete. ^_^
Please don't sign me up - I'd like to do it my own way.

I JOIN
But I wanna make at least a few posts...
And I don't make projects like that - it's been over two years and I only have 15.
EDIT: Actually, I'll do it my own way.
But it'll bear resemblance!

You can't bring 2007 back, just give up. 2010 is the way to go, after all it's the year I joined here.

Well gee. That's the spirit[/sarcasm]
We can at least try. We have a right to.

They're trying to bring a year back. There will never be another 2007 again. It's all going downhill from here. Quit before it becomes the next Newgrounds.

You're never gonna bring me down. I realize we can't bring back 2007, but we can at least make it better. Now, let's stop pretending this is one of those sappy movies where at the end they have some guy say "And the moral is, kids, never give up in life!"
We just wanna try to fix Miscellaneous. Jeez.

2007 was great, but everyone here doesn't understand why. In 2007, Scratch was featured on tech news sites including slashdot and reddit. This brought in a flood of programming enthusiasts to the site. I remember there being a really neat and successful collab to create the tetris project which is included with the Scratch installation among other things and people seemed more insterested in programming in general.
I think that after the initial use, most code savy people left to do more real programming and gradually, this site has attracted more of its target audience. By target audience I mean 10-13 year olds who have no programming knowledge. The site has been made more appealing to this group though remix sections and chat/games forums. Now they are the dominant group and people who really like coding are turned away by the general atmosphere.
I used to really dislike how the site and the community is developing but after some thought it may be for the better. Tons of target users are coming to the site and even if programing isn't the highlight of their activities at least its there in small amounts behind their colouring/poll/remix projects.
Just my 2 cents.
