This arcade-styled game is going to be part of Mooster's "Arcade Collab" project, but I wanted to show you guys this since this whole project was solely made by me. The only thing I even took from any other Scratch project was Archmage's "Efficient Scrolling" project to make an effect of stars whooshing by on the menu and gameplay.
This game is no where near whats to come, I made all graphics on my own, and the logo for Space Hero was done with the font "PacFont Good". I have said before that my other projects were my best without using other peoples projects, this time I mean it. This will give you an arcade feel to it.
I will include a high-score screen, updated by me once a week, so when I upload the project, you guys should check around atleast once a week to see if anyone has beaten your score. It is sort of a Space Invaders/Galaga game. The only huge things I need to do is set up advanced enemy AI, shooting, deaths, plenty of other good stuff, including a 2-player mode, and some minor things like music, art, extra programming, and sound effects. Even when I demo this game I feel like I'm in the arcade.
Below are some screen-shots!
Also, I have provided a link to the menu theme!

NEXT UPDATE: Level start-up music + possibly sprites!
PLEASE! Help advertise this game by turning this

Most Recent Update (8/22/10):
I have made the basic shooting engine. I also made enemy deaths, and basic enemy AI. Next big step is to make it so enemies hurt you. And make better AI. Right now it has some problems.
DEMO HAS BEEN RELEASED! CLICK HERE!

Why arent people posting on this? It makes me feel like you dont care. And it discourages me when people arent showing any enthusiasm. I have worked hard on this. Very hard. Yet no one seems to care! What are you opinions on the game from the screen shots? How did you guys like the menu theme? Come on guys! I need something to keep me from getting lazy! And what i need is some enthusiasm. Or else I dont feel like its worth it. And if this project becomes popular enough, i had many plans for this game, such as arcade mode, when it looks like you are in an arcade, and the screen is inside an arcade machine, and the joy sticks and and buttons react to what your pressing on the keyboard. I was also thinking of a sequel and severak other plans that wont be shared until later. So please show some energy for this!

Wait, so it's not on Scratch?
Also, don't expect any immediate gratification from the scratch community. Most people feel the same way when they find out that most scratchers don't pick through every detail of their project like they'd hoped. Well, I'm making my games mostly for myself these days

How similiar is it going to be compared to Galaga or Space Invaders? Like.... is the game broken up into one massive overall level or not? Will enemys exit and enter the stage, going at you for a hope of Kamikaze? =3
1. Well, it will definetally have the same kind of vibe as Galaga and Space Invaders, but I'm planning on adding many extra things such as power ups and such.
2. There are two possiblities. Either Space Hero will be one continuous, never ending level, or there will be about 10 levels. I was thinking if it is an infinite game, it is much easier to actually get a highscore, because everyone would get the same score as long as they beat the game and got all score items.
3. Of course! I will most likely add that feature or else the game would be pretty easy.
