Sorry, had to let out my anger on someone, but I should get used to it. People used to think I'm a girl irl when I was younger. T.T

People think I'm a girl when I talk on the phone.

People think I'm a boy on the phone. I'm pretty sure my situation is worse.

Once someone called, I picked up, and they said, "Is this Mrs. [my last name]?

Does anyone have any more tips? This topic is not about who sounds like a girl on the phone!

Re: Middle school! :O

My homework advice is...

1) DO it.
2) Don't procrastinate!
3) Get help if you need it.
4) Keep your stuff organized- it would stink to do your homework and then loose it.
5) Remember to turn it in. Some teachers aren't going to remind you.

My "clique" advice is...

1) Don't make being "popular" your top priority. Your top social priority should be making and keeping good friends.
2) Stay in band! I know, that doesn't seem totally like it fits in this topic, but it does. Band will help you make new friends, and at a lot of schools, the band is like a family.
3) Stay in Girl Scouts! OK, I don't have much expertise in this area- I was in Girl Scouts for only one year when I was seven. But if you enjoy Girl Scouts, stay in it.
4) Some people in middle school are jerks. However, most people aren't, so don't worry too much. I've found that people usually "bully" others to get a reaction out of them. If someone calls you a name or something, don't get upset. They probably will stop.
5) Be confident! If I had the confidence I have now when I was in middle school, it would have been so much better.

And finally...

Don't worry. You'll be fine. Have fun!

I use these tips! But a few things:
1: If I quit band, I would forget how to play the flute, and I would have to learn it all over again
2: When I became a Girl Scout Junior in 4th grade, I made a commitment to my troop that I would never quit. I will do Girl SCouts until I become an Ambassador (The highest level in Girl Scouts, for 17-18 year olds) and mayb even become a troop leader
3: I'm a master procrastinator. I'm trying to stop, though!
4: The middle school I will go to stops bullying IDMEDETLY (I think that's how it's spelled) once it starts. So I won't have much of a chance to stand up for myself, cuz the staff at school will stand up for me.

But I will use these tips!

I'm going into 7th grade, and I'm really not worried. All of the teachers sound decent, I'm part of swim team, band, and accelerated math(so basically honors math?). Don't be afraid of sixth grade. Just act natural and have fun. That doesn't mean everyone is gonna like you, but listen to the cat in my sig:

He's right. Just don't be hatin' others, do your schoolwork on time, and it's all good bud.

My old ELEMENTARY school has 700 kids, the nearby middle school has 800.

I'm in middle school. It's awesomer than it may seem (despite all da homework)

Re: Middle school! :O

I went to middle school two years ago for sixth and seventh grade, and it really wasn't that bad.  I didn't have that much homework.  In fact, I think I had more homework in fifth grade than I did in the two years I was at the middle school.  The things that's the worst about it is the social classes, but I would just remain right in the middle with those, and not get too involved in the rivalry.  It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, but I guess that there were still some jerks who went around taunting people.  Don't worry- they're cowards if you know how to stand up to them.
The good parts about middle school is the new friendships you'll make, the freedom you'll have, and band is pretty fun.  I played the flute, too.

EDIT:  BTW, did you say your school had 300 kids?  Huh, mine had 700!

6th grade is soooo easy. Well, other than getting beaten up, being harder, etc., but in an american school it´ll be INCREDIBLY easy. In an argentinian school it´s all Spanish, and you get beaten up a lot  tongue  So, I say it´ll be easy for you, as long as you go to an american school.

Stop worrying yourself! 6th grade is fun! You don't even get that much homework until the next year, and I hear that in 8th grade, you get TONS of homework. I'm going into 8th grade, but that doesn't worry me, so why should 6th grade homework worry you? All those stupid survival guides do is make it seem harder! Plus there's only 300 kids? WOW that's a small school! My school has over 700! Just don't worry at all! BTW have you figured out how to make a sound with your flute yet?

I've never seen a kid getting beat up in my middle school  tongue  Or at least in the, um, non-ghetto part of it.
Yeah, my middle school was basically two schools merged into one.
There was the Highly Academically Gifted program (my part), and the neighborhood kids. And the school was in a really bad neighborhood.
