Will any suggestions given in this forum be of any value, or will we have to suggest things in the new place instead?

The info page says:
To Participate
You can browse to see what suggestions others have.
If you've participated in Scratch for awhile, you can vote for the suggestions you like best.
You can also add new suggestions.
You can also discuss ideas on the Scratch suggestion forums.
The other site seems to have more effect, though.

I have a few suggestions: a "spawning" block, so you only need one sprite that keeps reproducing itself, and a "direction to" block so sprites turn and don't always point directly at other sprites. Also, a group thing: so you could have two groups, "good team" and "bad team". And what happened to Scratch 2.0? I heard you were asking for suggestions for it.

Scratch should have a "pause all sounds playing" and a dropdown list with "all sounds" and "this sprite only"
<play sound[I wish I could make a bettah one no?]pressed?>

Well, I got an idea. You know those blocks with "or" and "and" and "not", right? It would be a good idea to be able to type in what you want in the blank spaces on those blocks l mentioned. Like this:
[blocks]<<blank<and>blank>>[/blocks]
Or:
[blocks]<<<or>blank>>[/blocks]
OR:
[blocks]<<<not>blank>>{/blocks]

My idea for the next version of scratch is so that in the paint editor you can paint what I will call "materials" for now. materials will just be a paint that you can name in the paint editor. for example, when I go and click on the materials button in the paint editor it will ask you to type the name of your material or select an already made material. After this, you can paint over your sprite in different places to mark where that material is. Materials will only be visible in the paint editor. In the normal screen where all the sprites and backgrounds interact the material paint will not be visible. A sensing block could then be added reading: "if touching material ____" so that you could have only part of a sprite be sensed when touched without having to change the color of the actual sprite.

@Locomule - the Suggestions forum is still a great place to make suggestions You're free to make as many suggestions as you want here. Ideas are to be vetoed or accepted by the Scratch Team, which will give those on the front page more attention, meaning they'll get off faster.
You can switch around your votes however you like. I tend not to vote on front-page suggestions because they're already getting the attention they need.
And keep in mind, the Scratch Team didn't make this completely - it's powered by a Uservoice system
Oh, and you can make your own suggestions

If scratch can load a gif, why not rebuild scratch to load an animated gif, and auto splitting the frames. It would make creation a lot faster.

Scratch can already do that. Try importing an animated gif into Scratch, it should already split the frames up into different costumes for you.

i was thinking of a thing called a "sub sprite". when you open a sprite's menu, it says:
<{scripts}> <{costumes}> <{sounds}<. well. I was thinking that there should be a menu that says: <{sub sprites}>. sub sprite is like a sprite, but anther sprite has a script to create it. when you click <{sub sprite}>, you can click a sub sprite, and edit it's costumes, scripts, and sounds. a sub sprite has a <delete> block. to create a sub sprite, put the <create sub sprite[ in the scripts of the owner

I have a project with a bunch of blocks that would be cool for the next version of Scratch
Go to Dunvegan5's page and look for "Scratch 2.0" (http://scratch.mit.edu/users/dunvegan5)
or go to the project directly at
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/dunvegan5/1365300
Thanks!
