I hope they'll keep the traditional Scratch look.
Yes - I hope they keep the Scratch look. Or maybe if they aren't, how about a theme option

Themes would be nice. I personally look the look of Scratch exactly as it is now. It's not too flashy.

The new scratch blocks look more organic. I like both. Maybe there cold be an option to change between the Scratch 1.4 look and the Scratch 2.0 look.

Yes I agree - Themes, like I said before Programs like Streak (A 1.3 remix I use to have) did that.

The current block look is completely EPIC!!!
I hope the blocks in 2.0 won't look like the ones in the experimental viewer... those look too flashy and the type of thing you'd find in those silly products that are trying to lure kids in.

When will Scratch 2.0 be out? Is there a roadmap or something to follow up on?
There is no exact date for the release of Scratch 2.0, but it's scheduled to come in 2011 hopefully, perhaps 2012.

What about if you're on a laptop or don't have internet?
I'd kind of like to keep it the way it is.

Well, the Scratch Team does have to keep Scratch up to the current trends
There probably will be major changes to the interface for the browser and stuff. but don't think of it as a down-grade

Having a laptop doesn't change anything.
There will be a downloadable version if you don't have an internet connection.

Look at the changes Youtube has made to the interface in so many years. Although some people didn't like the changes when they saw them; not many people left Youtube just because of it. And besides, now, Youtube looks more shiny and friendly to new viewers

I LOVE the new YouTube
I'm sure that if they redesign the interface it'll be much more intuitive

I just thought - if the whole look of the Scratch program changes, do you realize how many images we'll have to redo on the Scratch Wiki!?

And does that matter? No .
On RuneScape, when they added a new skill (which believe me is a big thing xD), they added hundreds of new items, as well as locations and bosses and creatures, etc. Meaning like maybe 200 new articles or something. But did that make the RuneScape Wiki give up? Nope! So neither will we ;D
