I've found the bit where you can change the signature but I don't know how to add a picture on it...
Ah - you need to upload it to an image sharing site, such as Tinypic or Imageshack, so that we can view it, too. It will then give you a piece of code, which you can paste into your signature

Is this the picture you wanted? If so, use the code below:

How do I put an animated gif on my signature?

I think you upload it the same way as a still image...
You seem to gave a gif in your signature, though.

I think it's smart to do that way. I am new here, and I can't wait for another 15 days lol jk

Sorry, long bump, but I think you should implement a 50 post AND 1 month minimum requirement.

It is considered as spamming if you update the signature very first time when you are registering into some forum.
Actually, it's considered spamming if you abuse the signature for SEO use.
If we didn't have issues with people using signature for SEO purposes, then we wouldn't have need for signature restrictions.

Hm? I don't quite understand... Rarely does SEO spam actually make it onto the website for the permanent eye to see.

What if we had a bit of both? Maybe needing 40 posts and 20 days, so if they just wait 20 days they will still need the posts, and if they just spam they still have to wait.

That would be cool

Thats weird! I was not active on the forums for 15 days and I still got a siggy.

You first visited the forums in May - that's more than 15 days.

Since signatures cannot be flagged as inappropriate, and are not marked as "new" when they are updated, it was very hard for the moderators to delete every inappropriate signature.
Done!

Ah, now I understand. I was a bit confused before, because although I've been on Scratch for ages, this is my new account, and I haven't been on the forums yet (apart from now), so I was wondering why I couldn't get a signature.
But, you said it's to stop spamming, am I allowed to post my www.dragoncave.net egg here? The idea of the game is to raise dragons, but you have to put them in your forum siganture, so when people click it it "feeds" the dragon, can I post mine when I'm allowed a signature? Or is it not allowed?
Thanks!

Dragon egg links in sigs are fine
Dragon egg topics, on the other hand, are not allowed as they tend to take over the forum. We have one topic dedicated to Dragon Eggs over in Miscellaneous, if you want to post about your dragon eggs.

Well explained. However it is nowhere mentioned how many posts a new scratcher has to post in order to get signature. In other words how do you quantify the "activity".

That's because there is no set number. For some it takes hundreds of posts before earning the title of Scratcher (thus earning the ability to get a signature), for some, it took only under 20 posts. That's why "activity" here depends on how frequently a utilizes the main site and the forums (simply put, we look at how a users is using the site in general).

Therefore you can only have a personalized signature once you've earned the Scratcher title. (Which sure is a tough job for spammers )
Do you want to say anything about what you added in Announcements?
