<Rewritten!>
Like any online community, scratch is often attacked by spammers. Now don't confuse spammers for normal(*Sarcasm*) people who eat the food called spam,Because there are many forms of spam. If you have an online mail account, you know what I mean, if you don't have one, here is an example.

Of course, the siggy rule stops that. (Sorta). Anyway, what you get instead, is stuff like this. I introduce to you, SCRATCH SPAM.
Spamman wrote:
go to mai project plz! OLOLOL (insert link here)
This is done by people, often without them knowing it's actually against the rules, to show thier projects. Most of them are just scribbles and such, but often, you might get a good project(Too bad it's against the rules, so now that good project is missed out because some people want to improve the scratch community by flagging.) If you intent on showing your project, either ask someone who makes E-News on scratch (EG: Scratchers weekly) to have a look(This is slightly more legal than the "ToU breaking way"), or use the "Show and Tell fourm.
There are also two other types of spammer, the "off-topic spammer" and the "Hidden spammer" the hidden spammer is like an ordinary spammer, but it never shows the link. like so:
"Hidden"spamman wrote:
Go plai my new project, i wnt feedbak plz!
And the last, more fourm exclusive spam is the off topic spammer who posts pointless messages that have nothing to do with the topic at all.
Off-topic spammer wrote:
TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!
Or if your topic is about cats
Off-topic spammer wrote:
I liek turtles.
Now you have learnt about spam, here is what you should and should not do...
Do:
The first thing you should do, is report it. I am not joking, it's that easy. replying to a spam fourm topic will bump the spammer upwards, and this can lead to flame-wars.
Don't:
Spam yourself: don't post topics about your project on any fourm besides "show and tell".
be sure to reply if there is somthing missing, as i made this thread to help users, and maybe even get this stickied.
Thanks for reading.

Very good - sometimes people (I for one) are/were shocked when they hear how simple it is to report.

Thanks!

Great guide! You might want to mention that some CEO's of companies do decide to hire people to go onto Scratch and advertise weird drugs But as always, report report report! We can't be more thankful

They actually say "hey, can you please go and spam on Scratch"?

Great topic! This should really help people deal with the dreaded spammer. This deserves to be stickied!
Also, I have a guide that might help stop spammers from ruining everything: How to "Spam"
It is a link to the forums; you can quote this and check.

I am wondering how you make a scratch fourm?

To make a topic, just click on "Create new topic", it's at the top right at every type of fourm.
Hope this helps.

That was the reason i made this. It's so easy for your post to become a sticky without needing a job as a mod.

I'm just bringing this up so it can get stickied.

Very nice guide, coolboy2009!! Very helpful. Now, new scratchers and others can tell the difference and distinguish the various types of spam.
