OK, so school either starts fairly soon or has already started for most of us, and I imagine that the majority of us aren't totally excited. But are you taking any classes that you are looking forward to?

I'm taking Computer Graphics, which should be fun. My school doesn't have any programming classes (lame), but I guess Computer Graphics is the next best thing. smile

PS: School starts tomorrow for me...

Ehm, we don't have electives yet. sad So I take LA, SS, Tech, Art, Math, Science, Gym, Health, Life Skills, Career Choice (8th graders only tongue ) and German.

Cool! I'm in band too. Actually, I'm in three bands: Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Band. I play trombone.

I'm starting sixth grade, so no electives. But I get to do orchestra, and thats cool, I guess. And I'm excited about taking Language Arts, for some strange reason.

We have no electives in Canada. Over here, we call them classes
I've never heard the word elective mentioned in school in all my 13 years of attendance

I'm going into 6th grade too. In my school, 6th graders get electives, but not many. I'm taking Mythology.

"Electives" are classes that aren't required and you get to choose. In my middle school, for example, in 8th grade we had two elective periods. Our choices were band, choir, orchestra, art, computers, wood shop, and PE. We had to choose two of those to take. Everybody had to take Language Arts, Science, Math, and Social Studies, so those weren't electives. In high school it gets more complicated because there are more choices for all of the classes. At my school, "elective" pretty much means a class that isn't a math class, a science class, a history class, or an English class.

Band, I play Baritone, Tenor and Alto saxophone for Jazz and regular band.
AP Science (Advanced Placement)
And... I think I'm in AP instead of GT Math this year.
Highschool is when I get the fun classes >:3

Computer game design and computer science! I think this will help with scratch a tad (not the reason i took them tongue ) Also band (and pep band!)

I'm jealous. smile The only classes that use the computer at my school are CAD and Computer Graphics. No programming. Oh, and I'm in pep band too. I forgot to mention it before...

I hope he have video design again this year... And programming.... Two years a go we built and programmed Sumo Bots.

Blah. I took that in 8th grade. We were supposedly going help remake our school website, but wound up typing and making PowerPoints instead.

Lemme say one quick thing, I meant Video Production, I kust couldn't find the word.
In video design we learned about how films were made and how people filmed the movie. Then we got to plan a small movie, then we got to film it, then we worked on a second, possibly longer movie. We never finished our second because it was a scratch animation and I had to do EVERYTHING, my partner only played games and got music >.>
Oh god, I think I still have it... Badly animated... A whole segment of monologue missing... Ahhh...
I found it xD This thing was fail. I'm so lucky we didn't get graded xD

And in robotics we built, programmed, the battled SumoBots.
We got to go to the RoboGames to compete, but I, of course, got sick T.T
