It's just a plan right now, but it'll soon be put into execution.
This will be the main discussion thread for recycle49 and I while we make this game.
As far as I know, the only 1s1s1c scroller that's ever been made so far is by AtomicBawm3.
Right now:
I'm making the base engine.
recycle49's developing the storyline, and will edit the engine once I upload the first version.

Well for the engin, i found it very easy to use lists and constantly add new corenents to them every level, its the simpliesway.
Like [Go To X(Idem_Of_)+Scrollx) Y (Idem_Of_)
Then Set pencolor to Red and go to the spaces were you can die
Also a pic
Lists, my idea

I was thinking about that too, but we would either have to use repeat (length of list) blocks, which would make the thing EXTREMELY slow, or write every list item out, which would defeat the purpose of having a list
But I'll experiment with it further. Thanks for the idea!

Thats what i was thinking to, the repeat would mess it up, but then your right on that, and the list grrrr... this is hard

I'll get to work today. Should it have slope detection?

Yes, i think i have a way of making it run fast and not take much scripting, It would have to have level sencing, or4 are we going to do a gaint level with check points, that would be much easyier to do in my eyes,
Scratch that, i just tested, wont work

How I think it's going to work:
Color sensing with collision-reverse programming. That means you go ahead and move, and if you hit something you move back in the same frame. Then the screen adjusts to your position and you go back, and it redraws the screen, and you've scrolled
What color should the platforms be?

I did a one level scroller just to test the scripting.
I uploaded two versions. See if you can tell which version works better online.
Here is version one.
Here is version two.

Ok.
I've found, unfortunately, that it's impossible to make a complete, efficient engine base for a 1s1s1c scrolling game. The best we can do is modify a normal scrolling engine (like mine) and make it use color-sensing and 1s1s. Because we can't use any list things without using repeat blocks
But that doesn't mean we can't make a 1s1s1c scrolling game. It just means we can't make an engine that can easily be made into a 1s1s1c scrolling game by beginners. In fact, we can still make an engine, and put certain scripts beside it for people to duplicate and add platforms and stuff. Like stray scripts like this:
[blocks]
<pen up>
<clear>
<go to x
(( 0 <-> <{ scrollx }> )) )y
(( 100 <-> <{ scrolly }> ))
<set pen color to( blue
<set pen size to( 5
<pen down>
<go to x
(( 100 <-> <{ scrollx }> )) )y
(( 100 <-> <{ scrolly }> ))
<pen up>
[/blocks]
So... what do you think the storyline should be like? Either way, I'm thinking of having moving platforms and enemies

I made a two level test. The slope was REALLY hard to do right, believe me. Observe.
See how well it works

The quartering xcol idea doesn't work, and the ycol idea doesn't work either
Darn. Bouncing idea also makes jumping really hard, so never mind about that... I'll just simply make more levels now.

Nice sig AB3

I did bouncing, if you want to look at that.
It looks good. The only problem is that you can't jump well with vertical bouncing
But I might incorporate side ricocheting into my version, although that could get annoying at some points.

I'll proboably just come up with level ideas, but can I help?

About to finish another beta, but editing is freakishly annoying...

1s1s1c scroller's aren't particularly difficult, they're just an absolute pain in the *** as far as making levels goes. and i've made one too, I just didn't publish it because AtomicBawm's came out about 3 days before I fininshed and i didn't want to be accused of being a copycat...
