Hello, I'm back on the Misc forum. I bet most of you have heard of the arcade machine named Stacker or Pile Up, where, with timing, you have to press a button to stack rows of blue bricks. I've won twice, but then found it is rigged, and you can no longer win. Do not play on this machine. Below is proof.
The machine's layout is this:
MAJOR PRIZE
[][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][]
MINOR PRIZE
[][][][][][][][][]<-----
[][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][]
Now have a look at the row with an arrow. This arrow isn't on the machine, but look at it. You start with 3 blocks. After row 3 you get 2. After row 7 you get 1. On the row with the arrow, the game will always skip the block, even if you hit it at the right time, so you can't win. Do not play this machine! It is a waste of 50p! I spent £5 on this.
Also, 1 in 10 times the game will allow you to win the Minor Prize. But if you continue, on the very last row before the Major Prize, which is usually a game console or Ipod or phone, things like that, the game skips. 1 in a staggering 800 times, the game will allow the player to win the Major Prize, and if you are lucky enough to play on the one-in-eight hundred go, if you win the Major Prize an angry face shows up.
I have seen many people waste dozens of pounds/dollars on this game. Don't join them.

Nice discovery. Although I've seen my friends win some stuff

I used to win Keyring Pool Balls every time I played until this feature was implemented. I have a huge collection of loads of different numbers. Question, when your friends won Minor Prizes, did they just get one prize, or did the machine pay out one full row of prizes?

I'm scared now. I was talking about this with my dad last night. This exact thing about how it is rigged!
Its true though.

One prize. And I remember once someone got a major prize, and it was a DSi O_O

You can't win this game? That was a huge goal of mine!
Well, there is about a chance that only comes like once a day when the machine actually thinks 'Right, I've collected money, it's time to give away a prize.' Then, the next person who plays is bound to win. But that happens very rarely.

Hey, when I win, it gives me the full row!
I once got two 1 pool balls, a 3, a 4 and two 12's, and I once got a row of seven. There's a row with six I haven't got that would mean I would have almost all the numbers, and that's why I spent £3.50 today trying to win it until I played in slow motion recording on a camera and what I saw was:
The square was on the left. It moved three spaces. I hit the button. This would have been the correct time. The motion was so slow, so then I realised after I hit it the square moved another slot and fell. This happened three times. So you can't win unless you're really lucky and the machine thinks it's time to give away a prize, which is SO rare.

Is that legal? To make a game unbeatable?
No. Not that I know. Someone wins like once a week because the machine finally decides it's time somebody won. Until this rig started I was wining big and I had a huge collection of pool ball keyrings that came as Minor Prizes, all the kids watching thought I was amazing. And now nobody can win anymore because of this.

That' unfortunate.

True.
Did you by chance miss your 1100th post?
Offline
Well, yes, that is gaming in a nutshell. The machine has a 1 in 10 chance of allowing the Minor Prize and a 1 in 800 chance of the Major Prize. If you win the Major Prize, an angry face appears when it gives you the major prize. LOL

Hmmm... this should be illegal. I've never actually played the game, but I've seen others waste tons of money on it.

Well, my local Pile Up has a glitch where if you win the Minor Prize you get a full row. I've spent £5, and got £13 worth of pool ball keyrings, I got 13, and gave 4 to my friend which were doubles. I spent £3.50 today in trying to win a really good row with all the number I didn't have on it, then I found out with my camera it's rigged.
