Only one issue though: I tried to thank somebody for a nice comment, and I was unable to because I had said thanks before. I checked my comment list, I had not said thanks for over 12 hours. What are the parameters for a "similar message"? I will have to keep a thesaurus nearby now.......

I have also tried to say lol....and it also did not let me. I think that there should be a list of limited words, like :

1. project(s)
2. my
3. any links to any project
4. the name in full or in part of any of YOUR projects
5. check
6. out (5&6 together signify spam)
7. look at
8. read this


and probably a few others as well.

I got caught up in the new Spam prevention as well (no, i wasn't spamming).  I think it's great the Scratch is trying to put an end to the spamming that was starting to get out of control.

yeah, the spamming is bad, but if you wanna comment nicely like you had before... but you cant!

Well, some people do not link, and just say "Check out my project ________!!!" so that is why certain words will have to be watched as well.....

You're allowed to say the same thing 3 times in the past 10 days. Do you think it's ok to post a comment with just the sentence "lol" more than 3 times? Maybe this will push us to put more creative comments instead of just "lol" ?

That is true, but I get a lot of nice comments and I like to say thanks. I guess I will have to say things like "thanks for leaving a nice comment" or "I am glad you enjoyed it" although after ten days, I am positive I will run out of thank-you comments, even with being allowed to say them 3 times.

Lol (    ), I probably will too, though i never actually reply unless we were having a "discussion" (newareagle and I) or they ask for something

I am also glad that we know the limits. I was worried, quite frankly, that we were only allowed to say things one time ever. I could never again just say "Thank you". I am relieved to know that the limit is only for every ten days! 

hooray for this, it's about time people who acctually work and don't spam get front page

Can'y you come up with better things than "thanks" like "thank you for your kind comment" and other things?
