If you have two windows open of scratch, you should be able to drag scripts from one window to the other.
Please answer:
1) Is this possible to do?
2) If it was possible, would you like to have this feature?
3) Would you vote for this idea on the Scratch Suggestion page?
UPDATE: Vote for this idea here!

Yeah, that's an excellent idea! I think the ability to have Scratch interact a little bit more with what else is going on in the computer would be nice... Right now, Scratch is completely isolated from what else is happening in your computer.

Thanks! If this gets enough support in this forum, I will add it to the Suggestion Page

This isn't possible with squeak.

Or what about being able to copy and paste scripts?
That would probably be simpler

Why not? You can drag image files to the window.
Try dragging a script out of the scratch window and you'll see what Billybob means.

I assume you mean "Scratch" not "squeak"
I know it's not possible now . But wouldn't it be nice if it was?

No, he means Squeak, the language (based on Smalltalk-80) that Scratch is written in.

I voted, I think, I'm still kinda new to Scratch Suggestions.

How do you know what's possible based on what Scratch can do right now?
EDIT: I support!

Nice idea! It has been suggested before, and I have wanted it for a long time. Reproducing a long script can be very time consuming. The only issue that might occur, is that people would be able to remix others project by dragging that project's scripts into their own project and not giving credit. Some people are get quite angry from "stealing" scripts, sprites, or even whole projects. It would be nice if Scratch could sense who's project you were taking scripts from, and if they are not changed, or are changed very little, credit like 'some scripts based off of scratchcat's scripts' would be givin. (there is probably a better way to word that)

Maybe there could be data like they have for projects (which records who made it) with Scripts, too? Personally, I'd love to be able to export scripts and make a sort of "Script Sharing Center"
I guess that's what ScratchResources is all about

Can't you put scripts in Scratch Resources? Anyway, I like coolstuff's idea of having digitally signed scripts. The problem with looking for projects with similar scripts is that many techniques (such as scrolling and basic movement) have scripts that are very similar to other projects' scripts that use the same technique due to the nature of the technique, and not because the creator was copying.
