Hamachi

I think this belongs in the Advanced Topics...
I want to get hamachi really bad but my dad wonders to what extent can someone connected to hamachi access my computer. So I want someone to tell me/my dad exactly what happens with hamachi, and is it safe?

Re: Hamachi

It is safe, as long as you don't have any shared files and you don't give any info away in the chatroom.

Re: Hamachi

Anyone connected to a Hamachi network that you're connected to can access all your shared files. But in some cases, your computer may ask for a password to access the files (and, if you have a Windows Vista/7 computer, it will restrict access to some files depending on their permissions). You can also create regular user accounts that network users can use, and then edit the permissions of some files/folders so that the account you created cannot access them. The above is from my experience using Windows 7, so if you don't have it (or maybe some other Windows OSes) then you can ignore the above.

Yawn.
