Scratch User Integration

Long story, but...

I would like to integrate a site designed to extend ScratchR with Scratch user's already-existing accounts (I don't want them to have to re-sign-up). Is there a way to do this?

Re: Scratch User Integration

It is possible, it's been done on Scratch Resources, and it can theoretically be done with Scratch Wiki.

However, for the most part, it has to actually be connected to the Scratch Website - it can't be some unofficial Scratch Fan site or something.

It's not an unofficial Scratch Fan site....
It's a collab site.

Just made by you and a few other non-Scratch Member people? Yeah that means it's unofficial  tongue .

Just contact the Scratch Team, and give them serious reasons of why to implement it. Couple paragraphs, some images of it (or access to it). I successfully made them add the Scratch Wiki, but that's something very new and original to Scratch, unlike easier collab support, so I don't really know.

Just made by me, actually. I was saying it wasn't a fan site  tongue

I think I'll wait a bit until I've developed the framework a bit more, then contact them.

Re: Scratch User Integration

JSO told me you can get a scratch API, but you need to be on the scratchr server. Also, coolstuff is already making a collab site.

Re: Scratch User Integration

There's an API. That's how ScratchResources did it  smile

I'm not sure exactly how to get that API, though...

Yes, well...
coolstuff's site has "hidden collabs" which the Scratch Team would probably be against.

Re: Scratch User Integration

I love the idea of a site for collabs. I'd love to support these efforts like we did for the wiki and ScratchResources. It would be nice if the people interested in creating a site for collabs exchanged ideas.

It is true that we do not want to allow for private communication. However, I would be OK with spaces where only some people can post and others can only read. Also, it would be nice if collabs were able to feature content and put the work in progress in a less visible place that is still public.

Re: Scratch User Integration

Wow! I'm in the process (at least somewhat - I haven't been working on it as much as U would like) of creating the collaborations site which aims at doing just that. It would be really handy to have the users log themselves in with their Scratch username and password - is there any way I could get that API? Of course, ScratchLabs is on a separate server - would it still work?

Re: Scratch User Integration

Oh, and there is also a relatively new site called Clutter that uses the API. I saw it at the scratch conference, it's really awesome!
