I'm pretty sure that isn't even near the majority. Besides, I don't even see any apps created by other people for yours.

ALSO, th shop was opened for all scratchers. I've Put my bias towards art and stuff aside to allow the app store grow for ALL people. Also, you'll notice many people who have worked on the App kit, have released, or is working on, more apps for it. The platform is simple and straight forward. And easy.

Let's move on. No windows, no minimization system, and really simple. The design is really, not planned out very well. Minimal space for windows, not a very good desktop.

Please note that the iSyn isn't supposed to be a computer simulation; it's just an OS. It's like some one saying "OMG THE DSi DOESN'T HAVE WINDOWS!!! OMGZFDSOJFOSDNF"

My aim for the iSyn was amke something simple, that works better than anything else of it's kind.

Let's take a look at a comparison table between iSyn, Sangle and Xeno9.

Re: Xenotype 9 still needs your help! :D Lol. Your opinion counts. :)

That's the problem with all these so called "OSs".
Think about it. You'll never compete with the computer's actual OS. It's impossible. So importing music and photos? Pretty much worthless.

That really leaves you with only one option left to make a GREAT OS.

You need to keep people ENTERTAINED.

I got bored with iSyn in two minutes. Xenotype didn't have enough to play around with. And Orion OS?
I'll see it, and then I'll judge.

What is the point of an OS if people are going to have to FORCE themselves to play with it? It gets BORING.

Instead of trying to make it all OS realistic with settings, and wallpapers, and import features (just use iTunes or Windows Media Player!), try to make it FUN for once.

Yes, it's a short rant, but it's a super awesome one.

The end.

Why are you guys arguing over this?

Also, 08jackt had a notice saying "THIS IS NOT INTENDED TO BE AN OS" at first, but people told him it was still an OS, which is why he removed that note.

Also, what's the difference between having to import costumes and having to import sprites? Seriously.

Hold on dignified, has anyone created nearly as many apps as you?

No, right? Your statistics are screwed up.

Who cares about bias? We're not talking about that.

Computer Simulation = Operating System, sorry to break it to you. If you have a computer simulation, you better make it look like an operating system.
Why are there no apps for Sangle OS? Simple, silly, I haven't released an SDK.(Which, already, is much better than yours).

Sangle OS has 3 apps, and more function that iSyn has at this point. (Without apps)

Also, on your chart, you haven't considered Sangle isn't in 2.61 yet. Its only 0.9!

Epic wallpapers? Pshh, you're kidding me? Wallpapers DON'T MATTER. If all you pay your attention to is silly "epic" wallpapers, you're clearly not thinking the right way.

At least my wallpapers don't distract people from the OS.

Your "1 step process" is a joke! People shouldn't have to rely on a single sprite to import images, music, wallpapers, etc! Let it be free and simple! They should just import a sprite, and get done with it!

Sangle OS 0.9.5 supports wallpaper importation, music importation, and picture importation, in such a simpler structure than yours. Import your sprite, and it's done!

OK, don't forget Sangle OS does support infinite accounts.

For look and feel, Syn OS is an 8.5 out of 10, it feels unbalanced, clunky, and the wallpapers are too bright. But otherwise, it's nice.

I'll make a better chart below(with no bias at all).

iSyn is awesome. Seriously awesome. Greatdane, where you say that wallpapers distract from the OS, they actually add to the OS. Wallpaper is a big part of the experience of a desktop. The wallpaper can set the mood. Make you feel good, or show you pictures of the beach you went to last Sunday. Why shouldn't Scratch OS wallpapers do the same?

To tell you the truth, the best SynOS was either 2 or 3.2. Seriously guys, iSyn is at the top right now, there's not denying that.

And I'm not going over to Sangle until a dev tool more powerful than the iSyn dev tool comes out.  neutral

I'm gonna run off and build an iSyn app right now.  big_smile

I CAN'T STAND wallpaper in Scratch OSs. I could CARE LESS whether or not it looks good. But wallpaper takes up WAY to much MEMORY. It takes FOREVER to load! For something you DON'T EVEN WANT. It doesn't add to functionality either.

You're not a standard user.

Much of the users of iSyn could seriously care about the wallpaper.

Not including me.

I personally prefer a blood-red screen.

The other people who use the OS want a clean, user-friendly GUI, which means epic wallpaper.

There.

Greatdane, all importing in the iSyn is one step. Please edit your table.

Greatdane wrote:

Epic wallpapers? Pshh, you're kidding me? Wallpapers DON'T MATTER. If all you pay your attention to is silly "epic" wallpapers, you're clearly not thinking the right way.

That's not all I care about. I'm just acknowledging the fact that wallpapers are a part of it. Wallpapers are a part of the graphics- something which is very import to it.

Greatdane wrote:

That's because I didn't want to have tones of apps which come with it. I wanted to people to be able to choose what apps to have- not to be forced to have ones they don't want.

So I kept the pre-installed apps to a minimum. Something which lets them play music, something which lets them view pictures, and the usual settings, about and help apps.

Greatdane wrote:

I don't like having to repeat myself, but I guess I'll have to- THE iSYN IS NOT A COMPUTER SIMULATION. And thus, doesn't try to replicate one. It's just an OS. No loading screen, no accounts, no fake file browsing, no fake internet. Devices such as Game consoles, mobiles and ipods all have an operating system. When's the last time you heard someone moaning about an iPod not having windows?

This is where I have to draw the line. iSyn is there to compete with the OS factor of Scratch OSs. NOT the computer simulation part. When the SynOS 6 comes out (if it ever does) then treat that as both.
